No, nothing yet. Hopefully he's just keeping busy and hasn't been on here in a bit.

    Hey guys!
    Lol. I didn’t go away.
I still find myself reading thru the thread.
    We are ok.
Moms a pain but she’s doing ok.
Winter has been a bitch this year.
She wants to sell the house.
I think she should stay and decide after seeing how awesome it is there during the summer?
@Larry Dangerfield thank you for checking in on me!
I am still so very glad that you all were here for me.
@BINK05TRD thank you I appreciate it.
    @JaCado thank you bud!
    A dodge really!
Ha I get it man tacos are not really family trucks.
I bet that has some freakin nut!
Plus all the comforts of home.
I did lumnas and impalas for the family size thing.
Kinda like driving my couch to work in comparison.

Winter has most definitely been rough. Colder temps than I remember in a while, then tons of snow.

Good to hear Jeff... I hate to say I think you mom may be right. Please dont guilt her into staying there. As you said the place is huge and a burden at times... especially winter. You haven't even gotten to spring and I am sure there was plenty your dad did to get the property ready to last another winter.
I love the updates and happy to hear you are all doing well. My best wishes and regards to the family.
Just a thought, speaking out my ass.
Why not move your family to the homestead and let mom remain there that way. I think that might be the only viable solution.
    :hattip:

Ps... yeah I am not a dodge fan.:D

I tried getting mom to move here.
She’s 15 minutes from work and my brother.
She is 45 minutes away for me.
She talks about doing her berries and flowers this summer then says I’m gonna sell.
My wife and I could go there but it would be more like I.
Our family kids grandkids are pretty local.
But no I don’t try to sway her.
If she wants out or not her choice.
It hasn’t been that long but it seems so. He has so much in his garage it’s gonna take time.

    Understood on all counts.
She will enjoy spring for a moment, but just as winter it won't be the same. Hopefully she can get out and socialize with the community and lift her spirit for another year.

She may enjoy the Spring but I bet by Fall she'll begin to dread the Winter and want to sell again.
Like you say, it's her choice and we know you'll be there to support whatever decision she makes.

You're a good person. You remind me of my wife. (I know that sounds weird and I mean no offense!) Let me explain. A few years ago when my widowed 90 yr old father-in-law health was failing and he needed help, my wife would travel 30 miles in the evening and on the weekends after working a 50 hour week to take care of him. I did too. Sad part was he had another daughter living 6 blocks away who didn't bother with him and thought he was a nuisance and an embarrassment. And I travelled there every day for 8 weeks to drive him to the hospital while he had radiation treatment. That other daughter- nothing.

So much for the global warming thing. Seems here when it did warm up it freakin rained then froze that night.
It’s been really windy here also being out was nasty.
Been fighting ice at moms trying to keep it clear.
    Don’t want her falling!
But I went on my tail breaking ice shit been along time since I’ve fell kinda forgot how much it hurts!
Bounced back better when I was younger. Wasn’t much bounce for a little while damm.

She’s starting to get out more.
And seems in good spirits but she still weeps when we talk about dad. Makes me sad seeing her sad.

Still too fresh on the mind.... it will be for some time.
But start making plans now since therevis so much to do one way or the other.... sell or stay. Don't tell her your making plans, just do it. She will appreciate it more and it will be less troublesome when the time comes, since I know you will be tasked with most of the work load.
    Love ya brother.

    Hey everyone,
    Moms doing ok!
    Her birthday tomorrow.
We just got hammered with snow!
I spent about 4hrs shoveling roof raking etc at her place.
12-16 inches of wet heavy snow.
Took 2 hrs to do my drive which is usually 45 minutes.
It’s gonna melt in the next few days but one last huraw.
We were thawing out so using the blower on the walks would just destroy the lawn.
I’ve got a boat load of clean up once it’s gone.
The snow broke a lot of trees.
She feels guilty cause she has a man friend now. We all know him he’s alone also.
I was thinking hell no but it’s no more than them having someone to spend time with.
She was going wait home tomorrow for us to come over.
He offered to bring her out to eat.
I told her to go and enjoy we will come to visit earlier.
The wife and I will have the granddaughter and need to be back anyway school Monday.
We get her Sunday and she goes home Tuesday after school.
Mom still weeps and it makes me sad. I find myself saying I should call dad. I got his voicemail and remembered, I still left a message. Not the one I was thinking but still I hope he got it!
She’s on the fence about staying or selling. It’s been a hard winter but it’s almost over!
    I miss him a lot!

Here’s my drive I did it like 7 hrs ago. There was like almost no snow yesterday.

Hang in there bud. She shouldn't feel guilty for being happy, if that is what the new man friend brings. Don't feel threatened or jealous, it will do her good to try and resume life as a widow and go out with friends if she can.

I'm so sorry. I lost my father too. Over ten years ago. I'm sitting in my Tacoma right now.. eating my lunch in the truck and looking out at a bunch of scrabbly trees on a sandy bluff right by the ocean. When my Dad was old we drove all around this island and he loved it. It just takes time. You'll do the things he taught you and see the world for him and be what he loved. You've honored him by posting here and your life will continue to honor his life. We might all be strangers to each other but not in this. Welcome to the world of people who love more than ever knowing how it is when someone you love this much is gone from your sight. It's all good.

    I agree!
At first I was thinking no.
Dad would want mom to continue on and so do I.
She has to enjoy her time.
