Ahhhhhh the classic Desert Pinstripe !!

Basically all you can do is have Detailer do what's called "Paint Correction " . This is basically a cut and buff using a buffer and using different compounds and buffing pads . If your paint has deep enough scratches ( you can feel with your fingernails) then you cut thru the clear coat

Seriously though, if you can feel them with your fingernail, they aren't coming out, at least not completely.

Your best bet is to clay bar, polish compound, then wax.

    Bad color to hide scratches.

    Good luck.

Just gotta get some compound and a wheel going on. I gave up on trying to lose the pinstripes years ago... It's just too time consuming.

I wheel my shit. It's gonna look like I do. ;)

Just keep going through thick trails and don't worry about it.
I just keep a protective layer of dirt on mine so I never see the scratches. Pretty sure last wash was in 2016.

Clean the inside, don't worry about the paint. Consider it as a badge of honor that you are doing more than mall expeditions.

Scratches are like scars. It tells a story. Says you’ve been somewhere. Gives your vehicle character.

    Form follows function
good cleaner wax followed by sealer wax. For pro-level stuff search youtube if you're brave enough to try the "paint correction" method. Or...you could always take it to detail shop. As far as the plastic, maybe a heat gun (careful not to over do it since it might start to look shiny).

Just out of curiosity, why do you polish before you compound? I do clay bar then compound then polish then wax/seal

That would be more correct, also seal then wax after that

I’m in the same boat, I don’t care that much but sometimes it’s annoying to look at. How much should paint correction cost?

Right. I just wanted to get correct info on here so people aren’t doing things improperly. Polish is less abrasive than compound. Although sometimes I do start with polish to see if it will get the scratch out. If it doesn’t, I go deeper to the compound to cut, but then go back to polish after the compound and then wax

Get an orbital buffer and some pads and good product if you have time and patience. It is therapeutic for some

    Check out this dude:

I swear I saw your rig last weekend near Klondyke AZ. Did you get this paint reassignment on the Rug Road?
