Needing tires soon and am thinking about 255/75/17. From all I have read seems they will be OK for TRD Sport with stock wheels and suspension. Anybody out there with this size?

Just ordered Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 255/80/17 for my 17 TRD Sport. There is a thread about 255/85/16 fitting on a stock 16 OR with no rub. Offset of OR wheel is +25 and the Sports is +30. Tirebuyer.com has them on sale for $173.

265/70/17 is more common... but some do go 255/75/17... that sidewalk will flex a lot on cornering compared to the stock 265/65/17

You may also notice a bit more bump steer due to your scrub angle being a bit more (look up tire scrub angle). I had 255/75/17, didn’t like how the truck handles, switched back to 265/70/17...much happier

    I run a 255/75/17 KO2 on an 8.5" wheel +12mm offset.

I chose that size because the KO2s were offered in load C, weighing less, and being slightly taller than the 265/70/17. I do not rub at all on my TRD OR, and I have flexed it while offroading

Looking at stock 265/65/17's there is not much room between sidewall and upper control arm. Don't want rubbing there as only spacers will fix it. Some folks say 265/70/17's work, others not. Looking at Goodyear Wrangler Duratraks.
