im sure there is a thread here that shows how to disable my DTRL, I’m not a fan of these lights ON with my halos, I’ve seen threads with mod where speed signals stay on instead of DTRL, I just want to turn them off. Any help is appreciated

Buy the jumper block from the dealer... I just deleted the part # and didn't keep my receipt, but it's <$10.

Buy a Smart Tap flasher. Remove factory DRL y-harness and module, install Smart Tap and jumper block. Contrary to threads here, you can do this without taking any of the dash apart, I got mine done with the clutch pedal in the way so of you have an auto there should be plenty of room!

I just followed the wiring from the DRL module flasher (black box clipped to the right side of the fuse box) laying on the floorboard, to the 2 plugs behind the fuse box. Neither of them have any tabs actually holding them in, just wiggle & pull. Then install the jumper & flasher by feel.

    ^^ yep.

To remove the DRL and install the Smart tap flasher, you need the grey plastic jumper block part# 82671-30360. It's available from the dealer for about $8. Your truck has a 3 way harness that goes to 2 spots on the fusebox and to the flasher on the right side of the fusebox. Remove all that and install the LED flasher and the grey plastic jumper block. This will eliminate your DRL. The Smart tap flasher does several really cool things.

This is what grandpa taught me to do, sure you may have to replace the bulbs more often but it makes sure that people can always see you.

sounds like this is fairly easy to do if I can manage to get in those spaces...I will get the block from dealer, thanks for the part #...
By the way is this the flasher you are referring to "2005-2013 Toyota Tacoma LED Turn Signal Flasher, LM 449 (CF18)"Flasher.jpg by Diode Dynamics?

Or just bring it to the dealer and have it program them off. My local dealer did it free of charge.

No. With DTRL, you have a 3 way harness. It plugs into 2 places on the back side of the fusebox. The 3rd “way” plugs into the flasher. Remove ALL of that. Now you are left with 2 places on the back of the fusebox to plug into. Plug the smarttap flasher into 1 place. Plug the grey plastic jumper block into the other place. That’s it.

The DTRL flasher is clipped onto the right side of the fusebox. Remove it and the 3 way harness and sell them. Some people actually want them.

The Smarttap flasher is made to work with LEDs and cures hyperflash. The coolest extra features are driveway illumination after locking truck and wig wag hazard flashers. When you have the wig wag flashers on beside the freeway, people definitely slow down more. I’ve personally seen it.

The grey plastic jumper block (part number 82671-30360) Plugs into the back of the fusebox here. I don't know what you're trying to do, but take that DTRL 3 way harness and give it to the dog for a chew toy.

So, ??? That last pic is showing the smarttap flasher and the jumper block that you have? If so, that's not the 82671-30360 jumper block.

Here's where you are getting confused. 81980-50030 is NOT a jumper block. That is the part number for a OEM Toyota FLASHER without DTRL.

82671-30360 IS the correct gray plastic jumper block for your truck. The grey plastic jumper block and the smarttap flasher will work on your truck.

The reason that Toyota flasher and the smarttap flasher look the same is because they ARE essentially the same. Just 1 works with LEDs and the other does not.

With the DTRL 3 way harness and DTRL flasher, the front and rear turn signals are separate so you don't end up with rear DTRL. When you eliminate all that crap and plug the Smarttap flasher directly into the fuse box, you only have rear turn signals. That grey plastic jumper block simply connects the rear and front turn signal terminals together. Forget about that "DTRL module" term. I don't know where you got that. There is only a flasher with DTRL and a flasher without DTRL. Does all that make sense?
