Just sharing some of my OME experiences. Got 5100 all around with 882. My truck is currently a Ext cab with ARB bumper and 9K winch.

Front measurement from ground to fender 36.5 R and 37L rear with Dakar 2.25 leaf pack is at 40R/L inches. 39 inches with 250+ of weight in the back.

I went ahead bought nitrochargers and 883 for the front to help the rake.

Hoping it will help it out. I’ll send an update when they arrive.

Getting ready to order new suspension for my '03 extended cab. Full 3/16" skids, Trail Gear front tube bumper, All Pro sliders, with a cap on the back and like 400-500lbs of tools and gear. I'm looking to get just under 3" of lift over stock. This way I can ditch the crappy spacer lift. I was leaning towards Nitrocharger shocks all around with 882's up front and new leaf packs in the rear. Any suggestions? Edit: I already have the diff drop.

Basically stock. OME 882s, HD Dakars and nitrochrgers, TG front bumper, custom rear bumper, 4Xinnovations sliders, RAT skids, Softopper, 255/85/16 ST MAXX's on 16" steelies, 1" B.O.R.A. wheel spacers Scangaugae II, deck plate mod, grey wire mod,ECGS bushing, diff breather relocation, alarm mod, defrost w/o compressor mod, de-badged, sockmonkey beside decals.

Just got my 883 installed with winch and ARB bumper. I feel that the 883 has a little more roll and bounce on road. Not sure how that will work on Offroad

Fresh 1st gen owner here. I’m looking at ordering the ome full setup to replace the 6inch block and spacer setup that came on the truck. I need the leaf springs and alllllll that. One thing I’m still unclear on is if I’m gonna need to do anything for my control arms. If I remove everything from the previous lift and install something like a 2.5 or 3 inch will my control arms meet up correctly? Thanks a ton.

    My lessons learned.

Are you goin aftermarket bumper and winch? Consider which coil to buy. 881 are for stock set up

Rear leaf springs will most likely need shims to correct driveline angle. 2-3 degree shims will be needed.

Also on driveline angle, buy a carrier bearing drop kit.

Stock control arms work with OME

It has a bumper and wench already so good looking out on that point. I’d like to go stiffer in case I want to load up with supplies/ camper shell when my guy and I start our over landing adventures.

Edit: tried looking around on the web, could you put into noob terms how and what the shim and bearing drop kit are? Thx

2.5 - 3 will have have vibrations... We’ll, most likely you will have vibrations from the driveline shaft. To correct it you will need to angle the driveline to the correct angle.

Degree shims are a chunk of metal that provides the angle between the leaf spring and rear axle.

The carrier Beating drop kit goes in the middle of the shaft to also correct the angle.

With regards to the extra weight in the back, you might need some helper spring or air bags, but I’ll let others speak to that.

Thanks so much for the input and description. I’m still trying to learn what I need to get my ride sorted out. I’ve had her a couple weeks and been driving a commuter car while she waits on her setup. I can’t wait.276C6BBA-19E4-47D5-BC84-222CA3135C1D.jpg

Just finished installing the new front end components. Gained about 2" of lift in the front, and 3" in the rear. Front end is 22 inches from center hub to fender, rear end is 23 inches. CV angles look good, but noticed that my front end went from negative camber to positive. Taking it to get aligned tomorrow, hoping they can straighten things out.

    Front:
    - OME 2881 Coil Springs
    - Bilstein 5100 (24-239928) at 0" / lowest setting
    - Moog Greasable Sway Bar Links (K90704 / K90705)

    Rear:
    - OME Dakar Leaf Springs (CS046RA & CS046RB)
    - Bilstein 5100 (33-247717)
    - OME Greasable shackles (GS12) & bushings (SB88)
    - OME Exhaust bracket (FK21)

Gave me ~2.5” lift over stock. Bigger tires gave me a bit more too.

Do you need longer center pins when installing Dakar AAL's into the Dakar pack?

If its just a single AAL, no. I didn't. You will need larger U-Bolts. If you don't already have them, touch base with Wheeler's, Low Range or Headstrong. I think I ordered mine from LowRange.
