First off, i searched and tried to weed through the mess that it provided for me, but no luck. Soooo.....

My buddy purchased a beat up 06 DC 4x4 for dirt cheap (342k miles). She's beat up pretty good, but still runs and drives. No plans to make it a DD, just a Toy.

While swapping transmissions we noticed that the mid section of frame from cross member back to about the rear cab mount looks like a wet notebook, just wavy layers pulling apart.

Found that Safe-T-Cap doesn't show any parts for the 05-12 like i was hoping.

Any suggestions ? Anyone done some patch work with pics that could help? Just missed the 12 year limit on frame swap too.

Yep, 05-06 Tacos with rusted out frames are going to be getting real cheap.

I know, I know. I'll get some this week. Picture the edge of a note pad that got rained on, where the pages are all wavy and separated. That's what the bottom of the C looks like on his frame rails. Big yikes hahaha

Nothing you can really do except try and find a good frame at the wrecking yard,or junk out the truck itself when the frame folds up.

Note the thread started and died in 2019.

She may be fixed by now. Or buried.

I tagged them so they could see it.

Truck still runs and still is a rust bucket.

Is the repair you are doing on your first gen from a rusty frame? I’m really debating how hard this would be and I guess I might need someone to tell me no it ain’t worth it.
