Using factory microphone with aftermarket head unit?

    Too much.
    You wont be able to utilize the existing mic, but you can utilize the space that the OEM mic sits iin. The OEM mic unclips from the wire harness and can be removed. Wire your Sony mic from the dash, up the A pillar and over to the mic location (is it in the overhead console in a 2nd gen?). That's what I did. Then I put a little hot glue in there to keep it from moving around/rattling.
