    Easier to chat here. I rebuilt my 1996 custom all welded aluminum boat, this is the third motor on it. I use in lot's of shallow water.

    I SUCK at hand planing. I tried. I failed. I do everything with power tools now.

    My father is an incredible woodworker. I wish I had more interest as a kid but I do alright meow. Good for starting him young. :)

    I learned a lot from my father as well. If I can occupy him for 10 minutes with a hand plane I’m happy. I think as he gets older his attention span will grow.

    I enjoy woodworking I unplugged. But I prefer a hybrid of tools. For me hand planing goes well with a sharp blade and the plane in tune. I’m leveling then smoothing, then a card scraper on the figured areas that’ll tear out

    About ready to put a finish on. A natural oil sounds nice nice but a coffee table I want a poly on it.

    Tossed some mineral spirits on and I’m happy going the poly route. Going to use General Finishes Arm R Seal, rather than mixing BLO, spirts, and poly for my own wipe on mix. Arm R seal isn’t sold locally so it’ll have to wait.
