My commute is 20.2 to 20.7 miles. Would be nice to gas it up Monday morning and gas it again on Monday two weeks later. ( I gas it on pay day). That would be 2 gal. a day, 20 gal. in two weeks exactly the tank capacity...but nooooooo, IT decided I have to gas it on Thursday...that is my gripe with MPG that I have to stop on the way home on Thursday.

    OME and worth every penny.
I had a '73 Camaro back in '05 when gas went so high. It liked premium.
Drove it to work one day and it took 25 bux. Sold it soon after as the price was really coming on strong for 2nd gen. F bodies.
Just decided I had no need for a gas guzzler anymore with no purpose for any utility.
No one could have told me to keep it or get rid of it.
I just didn't want it any more.

So, what kind of mileage improvement did that guy with the low drag Tacoma achieve?

Don't forget that with your larger tires the truck's calculated gas mileage is incorrect, as are your speedometer and odometer. The computer in the vehicle doesn't know anything other than stock tire/wheel size. Your actual gas mileage is better than what the truck is telling you it is. You're also traveling more miles and driving faster than the instrumentation indicates.

    thats purty....

So here's my 2 and a half cents

    '85 Hilux, 22RE 2wd auto 36mpg highway no sweat.
    '16 SR, 2.7L 2wd auto. 22/26 City/Highway
    '17 SR5, 2.7L 4X4 auto, 21/25 City/Highway
    '18 Sport, 3.5L 4X4 MT, 20/24 City/Highway

A: No I don't have all of these at once, I had them one at a time and have managed to get hit/trade up/insurance my way into a better truck each time.

B: Stock lift and tires, that'll change on the Sport, God willing some clown doesn't T-Bone me again.

You would need to replace the truck with say a 4 banger Civic.

Curious what did you expect from the Taco?

If the Taco wasn't a 40-50k truck then I would probably sleep fine. I guess it's the fact someone pays that much for a vehicle and then complains about gas cost haha.

Btw OP you're a good sport for even having a thread like this lol
