Can someone confirm that this is the correct OEM cast aluminum running board part number that will fit my 2017 SR5 access cab? When I search the internet, I only find part numbers for a double cab? Thanks!

Unfortunately not. Those fit 05-15 Tacomas.

@gunny1005 at Camelback Toyota informed me they do not make the cast aluminum running boards for 2016+ access cabs, only double cabs. The 2015 running boards do fit 2016+ access cabs but they are not aluminum.

Just picked up a set of new 2nd generation OEM running boards from BOCH Toyota. $249.95 which includes a $7.95 internet transaction with local pickup. I'll post some pics after I get them on.

Put on the new running boards this morning. I coated the mounting points with Texaco rust proof D L compound for some added rust protection before installing. Couldn't wash the truck before taking a pic, too cold in RI. Fitment was perfect and easy to install. They stick out the right amount to offer some protection. Nice $250 accessory.DSC_0321.jpg in parking lots.

Good to hear they held up. Salting roads up here in the winter may shorten their life but at $250, I'll just replace them when I need to.

I don't think you will have rust issues. Those steps are mostly aluminum and plastic. That is what I was told when I enquired a few years ago. I ended up getting a lightly used set of Toyota Predator steps which are all aluminum. Did not want to deal with rusting steel in a few years.

The 2nd generation running boards are steel with a plastic cover. 3rd gens are aluminum.

Sorry for dragging up this old post, but...

So you have a 2017 Access Cab? And these running boards mounted directly on with no drilling or widening of holes, etc? I have a 2019 Off-Road and was considering these, but have seen where several people commented that they had to "adjust" the mounting holes.

If you look under your truck, you should see plastic plugs which cover threaded holes in the body (not the frame). The running boards mount with bolts that simply screw into these threaded holes, after you remove the plugs.

Thanks for that...I'm still trying to figure out if the the PT212-35053 will bolt directly in to the holes you mention. As I said above, I've read some people had issues, but the guy who stated this thread, said his went straight on with no issues. Doesn't make sense that some say one thing and others something else. I really like these, just don't want to have to return shipment running boards that don't fit.

If they are genuine Toyota parts, you should not have an issue. Posts 8 and 9 seem to confirm that.

PT212-35053 is a genuine Toyota part...but for the 2nd gen Tacoma, not the 3rd gen. However, many (including OP) say that it indeed fits the 3rd. Others say it fits, but requires some modification. The OP seems to have installed on his 3rd gen. with no modifications, but I just want to confirm before I order the same part.

Pt212-35053 will fit 3rd gen access cab, I have installed on a friends truck. I also run the pt212-35055 on my double cab 3rd gen. You will be good, perfect fit as the 2016 cab is the same as 2nd gen.

So I just ordered the PT212-35053 steps for my new '19 Cement, Access Cab, Off-Road...the final cosmetic addition. With less than 1000 miles, I've already added 17" 4Runner TRD Pro wheels with K02s, mud flaps, black bumper caps, black grille surround, black emblem overlays, and a bed mat. Now I'm considering either OVTune or ECT always ON mod...not sure I'll do either one, as I don't really drive the truck that much...but that constant shifting when I DO get on the highway, drives me nuts. Thanks for all the input!
