    2nd gen cap on a 3rd gen is a no go. Tail gate is thicker. The cap will sit above the roof line and 1 inch in on the bed rail.

    Odd you said 1" on the bed rail because when I measured mine and compared it a 2nd Gen that's what I was getting and thought I was just not doing it right. Thanks for that confirmation!

    Beware of the cap in post #2. The pictures show a different cap on the truck. When you scroll to the last two pics it's no longer a hi top with the window on the roofline, and the side windows are different. Possible scam.
