If I could get off in time to get down there I would. They are an hour drive away, close at 5pm and I can't get out of work until 4:30 at the earliest. I am considering taking off tomorrow and showing up when they open at 8am

Such a fine line to walk though. On one hand you don't wanna get the runaround or otherwise, but on the other you don't wanna piss them off to the point that they half-ass it or intentionally screw something up.
I still have some hope (based off of past dealings) that despite the delays, they will do the job correctly.

Yeah, easier to catch Flies with Honey than Vinegar. They won't be able to use the "You rushed us" defense if you gotta bring it back for any reason.

I guess I see it different. I would want to know exactly why this all happened. Did something else go wrong I am not being told about?

What blows my mind is most people will accept an honest "we're running behind" and carry on without concern. Why do businesses feel the need to make crap up?

My true suspicion is that they never started it until sometime yesterday.

I am with you on this, probably didn't start till all the parts were at the shop and they had to finish what they moved into your old slot.

under that assumption, I could have accepted that, if they had just said it to begin with.

This gentlemen is a prime example of why I do 95% of my own work. Gears and Auto Transmissions are the only two things I won't work on and that is subject to change after this.

Took your advice, left work early drove down. Watched them bolt up the rear. They are staying after to bleed the brakes and conduct a 10 mi test drive while I go back and get my wife so we can bring it home.

Isn't that the same two lights that come on after an alignment has been done & the VASC or somethin' like that isn't reset? It's accomplished by shorting two specific pins on the OBD computer port. Surely they must know about this.

There are several write ups on how this is done. Just a guess. Think the owners manual said somethin' about it too.
