People parked pretty good 40 years ago with out all this crap..
Drivers now have no skill.
Let the computer park for me..

 

I've got one on my truck and barely look at it unless I really need to . A friend of mine can't back up without using one !!!

 

I taught my daughters how to parallel park in a business park on Sundays. You find one with the parking curb stones at front of the space practiced how much room they needed the lines made it easier for them to gauge especially in my full size double cab short bed chevy . Had them start with the drivers side facing the curbs and lines to get a visual of how much space and how hard to cut wheels . Then went passenger side toward the curbs. Took them a bit but they got it and no damage to the truck as generally those parking lot bumpers are lower then real curbs.

I like that it shows when the bumper is over the line, but if it's on an angle you really can't trust it not to hit cars beside you... I think that's how the dealership kid backed my truck into a pillar, grrr

 

Do I NEED a back up camera? Not really. Have I found it usefull? Somewhat. Could I survive just fine without it? Absolutely. Will I continue to use it? Yes sir. Do I suspect it will continue to be a popular feature on new vehicles? For sure. Is it more helpful as my driving skills suffer from age? Seems to be.

 

I do like mine when hitching up the trailor. you can see the ball go rite under the reciever hitch!

 

I have always backed into parking spaces. With the camera I can get within inches of car behind me. It's there so I use it.

That’s a long way from the modern engines we have now. Those injectors are buried deep deep into the engine. Special tools to replace.
Yeup I’ve changed a few.. not fun at all. I posted pics a few years ago I think.
