Went to go pick up my new 2019 Gray Off Road, heard a crash, my wife says, “ there’s your truck” joking around, then we were brought around the corner and yes!!
the sales girl just backed my new truck into a table at the dealership and dented the tail gate and broke the tail light....nice,,
....so told the sales manager to replace the tail light and put a new ta8l gate on.
We’ll see when I pick it up........not accepting a repair job, want a new tail gate
Will not take delivery if it is repaired.
Sucks !!

I've seen that happen before while waiting for service to be done on my car. This family bought a new Camry off the showroom floor. The Toyota employee pulling out gun it a little too hard and clipped the side of it against a tall, shelf-like structure. That family was livid. The employee was embarrased. The stressed out salesman was trying to do all he can to save that sale as I was watching and eating dealership provided popcorn.

I honestly would try to avoid that sale now. It probably depreciated much more if that shows up as an accident on its Carfax on top of driving a brand new car off the lot.

I asked about how it gets reported to Toyota and about carfax. Sales manager states nothing gets reported, they eat the cost of replacement

 

TBH I wouldn’t even buy the truck. For it to be damaged before buying it I would find another truck of the same config and move on. Only damage I will accept on my truck is the damage I apply to it lol. That is just bad juju to even have before driving off the lot. Hell tell them you want the 2020 for the same price OTD and you'll get some upgrades over your ‘19.

Btw my truck has damage from my wife in the target parking lot. YOLO, a blow torch and a hammer and BOOM the dent is gone. Fuck the paint lol, I’ll just blend it in with some trail damage.

 

Danggg that sucks man sorry, I watched a guy pulling a new corolla off the showroom. Smashed the passenger side mirror into the door. Salesman said it took a month to get a new one.

Does he even have a license lol. I would feel like a dumb ass for even getting behind the wheel to not be able to drive a car between two doors. Takes me back to when I almost hit a tree on a trail lol. Backup cam saved my ass “pun intended.”
