I can tell that's why I asked .Well excuse me if I dont trust you. Adjusters try and screw us every single day.Its not a blanket statement I've worked with every company out there (insurance ) to repair cars at the jobs I have worked . We are the ones that have to put them back together and fight to get the tickets right .

Dont get me wrong I dont hate adjusters and like some very much but when I comes down to it there hands are tied.

If you have to "fight" every adjuster and "fight" every insurance company to get the ticket right maybe you need to put the shoe on the other foot. Are you asking for ridiculous tickets upfront? All the shops I go to in the area I work there is never any fighting. Same goes for the shop. I go to shops that hand me a ticket that is laughable, and I tell them so. We laugh about it and move on. I also go to shops that hand me a ticket that is way under written and pathetic. Just last week I wrote almost $1500 more than the shop did as morally I couldn't let it go. There are a lot of shady, sketchy shops out there to but not all. That being said we both have difficult jobs to deal with, and it sounds like you and I would get along at the shop. LOL

From your statement I believe we could get along . I never ask for what's not there . We just do thorough teardowns and repair all the damage in an inner city environment with a lot of heavy collisions on new cars and trucks.Your right it's a tough job and not good on either side . Something has got to give.

I didn't mean fight literally fyi but if you go line by line and check for parts and labor every ticket is short and it's mostly labor. Re submit .

Toyota hoods are not what they used to be. 1st and 2nd Gens and Minis were made out of cast steel, they would have never done this with a chimney on the hood.

True in my case in Florida too.
(Accidental fire in garage, homeowner policy does not cover motorcycle (which did not have its own policy but could have) or airplane wings (which did not have their own policy but could have))...
Operating on the 'only carry insurance that I am legally obligated to' solution now, done with that industry as much as I can.

So when the bricks fall on it the rusty frame snaps in half so the truck gets totaled?

It was pretty crazy because he had a wind storm here, I was coming home from work in the morning and seen a pile of shit laying in a neighbors driveway, as I got closer I realized it was block and some clay tile. Took me another second to realized it was from one of his chimneys that collapsed from the rooftop. I was thinking holly shit lucky no one was parked there or anything. Then came home and seen this thread shortly afterwards. The neighbor already got his chimney replaced, they were over there late last week doing the repair. Waiting to hear from the OP on the updates.

I guess the OP on this "story" got so depressed with his damage -he went off and crawled in a hole?
Sure would be interested to see what the outcome was!?

It got totaled. The firewall was damaged and to repair it would have been too much work. RIP.

I appreciate the jokes and support from the forum.

I'm not gonna comment on details of insurance and shit cuz I'd rather not waste my time

I'll be driving my 05 now and to be honest I loved it more anyway.

I have a K&N air filter and a remote start that I never got the chance to install. PM if seriously interested.

    Thanks.
