I miss tricare. That was some good healthcare.
Although just got my 100% VA disability so I’m not mad about that.

I sold my 2002 Tacoma when I found out I was have a kid which turned out to be twins. Now that they’re 3, have college funds, I’m making out my 401k, and I have enough cash on hand that I could buy 2 trucks, I’m finally in the market again. I don’t do car loans, so whatever I get will be paid for with cash. Hoping to save by buying a built 2013+.

I'm on the fence about big down payments for cars.

That large chunk of cash could be making some interest in a high yield savings account.

If you get a good interest rate, might as well keep your money making money.

We all know cars are depreciating a great deal as soon as driven off the lot.

I like the idea of only putting down enough to cover that initial depreciation. If you got to sell it fast, you can at least get what you owe on it.

Yeah. In a perfect world we would leverage everything possible with minimal interest and put all of our assets into high yield investments that outperform the market. I just don't like what car payments do to my cash flow.

You would be perfect here then. I have friends that’s have 2 or 3 kids still live at the same house they grew up in cause the can’t afford to move. But instead of saving for a house cause mom and dad still pay for food and utilities and don’t charge you rent you can spend your cash on whatever you want. I do have a 44 year old friend that has never moved out of his childhood bed room, mom still buys him food and beer. He must have an extraordinary bank account.

I sit on my ass 9.5 hours a day, as a shipping clerk, in a mill, dealing with truck drivers who don't speak engrish, just to max out my credit cards and have a 3rd gen with mediocre mods.:bananadead:
