The MPGs between the Sport and Offroad packages seem to be listed the same. If this is the case, is the purpose of the chin spoiler on the Sport just to recover the lost MPGs from the scoop?

Wouldn't think the hood scoop would cause any noticeable drag that would affect mpg. :notsure:

I saw a test somewhere about the chin spoilers and the difference was so small that they couldn't say for sure that it helped. Not sure how scientific it was.

No. It’s to create more down force from the added HP created by the hood scoop

The only drag my scoop has is dragging all the chicks toward my truck. Which in turn does affect MPG.

The Air Dam or Chin Spoiler, or whatever you want to call it, does help with MPG somewhat. To be honest, the most impactful thing I notice with experimenting with taking mine on and off is wind noise! I get much more wind noise with it off along the doors and underneath. I have heard others say the same thing. I can definitely notice a quieter ride in the cab with it in vs. off. In a crosswind I get the howl that has the TSB which uses plugs to plug certain holes I the lower control arms. I haven't done it because I am too lazy and tend to leave the air dam on most the time anyway.
