wasnt all fires that were started were with pg&e electrical company? would bet gas stove fires pretty much none existent unless you are that tarded and dont know how to operate it, which is possible in california. dont get me wrong i think its good to be proactive specially and video was excellent, i guess its something we need now days where people know about how to live in social media space more than real space :)

To my knowledge it wasn't PG&E that caused all of the wildfires, just the largest one in CA's history thus far (the Camp Fire...of course the name has caused some confusion), which wiped out the town of Paradise and killed 85+ people.

sadness, problem is no matter how much u tell people, or train or require permits and so on, tards that disregard law or rules, will always break them and do whatever, and in end the burden always ends up on those who already follow law and regulation just more paperwork and steps to follow.

    human nature i guess.

.... no go theeerrreee... tar pit... badd..... burn.......... boom .... 10 mil later head line "scientist find well preserved ancient man in tar pit after careful examination determined that we are just as stupid as we were 10 mil ago"

All? No. They did have a hand in several, though. PG&E has yet to really take the fall for them, and are trying to get the rate payers to foot the bill for their negligence.

All the other fires (decades worth) were caused by all the normal stuff: lightening strikes, careless campers, drunk a-holes on July 4th, etc... Climate change and population encroachment make it worse.

Gas stoves are definitely safer than open flame, and that's why those are generally allowed when open flames aren't. But that's only because a gas fire doesn't send burning embers into the air. Accidentally knock it over on to some dry grass and the result is the same. Fuego. I've been to plenty of places that don't allow gas-fired lanterns for the same reason.

"common sense" definitely doesn't seem to be as "common" any more. That's for sure.

But let's not pretend CA has a monopoly on stupidity. Just google "florida man + [your birthday]" for some entertaining reading, lol... Really, you could do that with any state though. :D

Last I heard it was something like 13 of the 17 fires this last season may have been due to PG&E's negligence in some way.

    https://www.npr.org/2018/06/08/618444388/pg-e-power-lines-blamed-for-northern-california-wildfires

Damn, apparently they're blamed for 17 since 2017... And they filed for bankruptcy, I guess so they can try and get out of paying for the damages...

Yeah, my wife worked for a sub-contractor for PG&E several years ago. She worked on pushing various permits through the local governments for line work, pipe repair, parking dumpsters, etc... real exciting stuff...

She'd come home and shudder. Like they didn't have a clue how old their pipes were. THEIR pipes. Not pipes they took over form another company. Pipes THEY installed. It's just too big of a company for how they are managed (or mismanaged, lol).
