Good to be in a well informed like minded community. I have a 2012 double cab long bed 4X4 truck. Just installed a 3" Motofab leveling kit and new TRD Pro shocks all the way around, Differential drop and sway bar drop. Install came off without a hitch. However, I am noticing a couple of things since the install. The most noticeable is a clicking sound when I apply the brakes upon backing u; or moving forward slowly. The second issue is a faint vibration under the truck from about 35-60mph. It quiets when I go above 60. I have not checked u-joints on the drive shaft or the center carrier bearing on the driveline yet. Any info would be very helpful and appreciated.

    Welcome to TacomaWorld!

The brakes clicking was probably there before and you just weren’t paying attention to it to notice. It’s pretty common for brakes to click the first time you press them after changing direction. Just the pads sliding forward or backward. I never noticed mine either until someone outside the truck mentioned it one day and I started listening for it.

Welcome! You are on the right track. As others have said, the clicking is common with a change of direction forward to reverse and reverse to forward. Vibrations are never fun to track down. You can try the simple stuff first, u-joints and center carrier bearing. Wheels, rotors, etc. can be checked also. If the install was recent and the shop is reputable take it back and let them help you diagnose the problem.

wow. Thanks for all the welcoming messages. Lots of appreciated insight. Loving my Taco. I had a 94' Toyota Hilux 4X4 before I got my Taco. Unfortunately after lots of blood, sweat and tears fixing it up, it got totaled in a wreck. I got my 2012, 4X4 long bed double cab to replace it. Thanks for making me feel welcome.
