    Hi All.

Can you guys tell me what this part is called? the thing sticking out is soft. Seems to be letting oil out from there.
Just got it back from having the timing chain cover leak fixed.
Wondering if they didn’t put this part on correctly.
Looking at the right side of the engine bay.

    TIA

Looks like high pressure DI fuel pump

Edit: Couldn’t really see the source of oil seepage, but the DI pump typically runs off a special lobe on one of the camshafts.

I haven’t looked under the cover of my Taco, but appears a gasket is not sealing as it should

So... took it to the dealer today. They’re going to replace the high pressure fuel pump... that they replaced last August under the TSB for the chirping sound.
    What happened to Toyota?...

does the AC drain mod count?
Same boat here where the dealer "fixed" my high pressure fuel pump that was faulty from the factory, but right after the 12 month warranty on work from the dealer (what an abysmal outlook on the quality of their parts or technical ability) the gasket sealing the fuel pump to the cam housing started seeping oil. The tech was nice and explained the process of replacing the gasket, but the company told me im SOL as far as getting them to fix it on their dime.

Just keep an eye on it. I mightve caught it starting to seep before the 12 month period lapsed if I knew what I was looking for... It was very subtle at first, only noticeable as an area dust was getting stuck to more. I'm currently looking up the replacement procedure for the gasket and it doesn't seem out of hand to diy. Dealer quoted me 1.1 hours of labor and like a $5 gasket. It will definitely be more time for my inexperienced self, but a good reason to finally buy a nice torque wrench instead of "tight enough" drain plugs and "hand +1/4" spark plugs.

I know this is an older thread, do you have the info on step of what to do for replacement? Dealership wants like 3.5 hours which seems ridiculous. I ended up getting a gasket off the internet because the dealership couldn't get one for like 4 months so i gave up and ordered it myself.
