    what’s up everybody, I just got my first Taco last week , MGM 2017 SR5 double cab , new to the whole truck stuff and I want to mod the shit out my new toy, rn I want to lift and put new wheels and tires and I got This quote from one of my good buddies friend , just want to get second opinions on it , thanks in advance fellas , also i don’t plan on off-roading much , most will be desert trails when I go shooting, other than that just daily driving to work and stuff , gunna be mostly for looks

    $3300 and having blocks in the rear instead of a different leaf pack doesn't sound like a good deal.

    Using blocks as a lift is an inexpensive and easy way to lift but if you're putting that much money into it you should get something better. I'm not the expert but check out some of the posts in the suspension forums.

    It may not be what some people on here would want for their truck but for commuting and looks...as you say, $3300 installed for all that is a decent price in my opinion.

    Yeah. It will be a slightly tougher ride than leaf suspension...but again for mall crawling...it will look good.

    If your just looking for a simple lift, just do bilstein 5100s and a AAL. Probably less than $500 plus installation. Way cheaper then what they quoted you and then just rims and tires. I personally think 4” lift is too much on the Tacomas.

    Just go with a Rough Country kit or different brand spacer/block kit honestly if you’re just going for looks. Far cheaper than what they’re going to quote you for. No need for performance shocks if you just want a change of appearance and it’ll save you some money.
