It doesn't look like the horses have the apple catchers installed.

Fuel efficiency should likely be your concern, so avoid the big lifts and heavy tires. I’ve been impressed with my Tacoma’s efficiency in stock format, but more impressed with what Ford is doing with the efficiency of their EB engines. I get roughly the same economy in my Tacoma as my F150.

Another thing, that I try to champion, it to not fuck up the environment we have left. Stay out of the wetlands, and keep on the trails/roads. Don’t impress your buddies by ripping the shit outta the alpine meadows, throttling through the underbrush, or driving up the rivers and creeks. Don’t carve your truck’s or company’s moronic name in the cliffs or trees either for your lame Instagram feed.
    (I know, I know :crapstorm:)

I remember I was dating this hippy nurse who used to talk shit that I didn’t recycle. She drove a Prius and she made comments about my “massive trucks”

“Both these engines are 4cyl on the smallest damn production trucks gtfo”

There’s no way to really do the calculus on this. Everything from trade agreements to origin of source of materials must be factored in and you could spend a lifetime researching all that.

You could buy a 60s American V8 truck that’s still going strong, and it’s manufacturing footprint has already been made. It’s emissions could be a net reduction in those created by new manufacturing considering how much things are imported, exported, reimported and re-exported etc., in the processes of modern manufacturing.

I have this old fridge - it was immaculate until my kid learned to walk and swing sticks. It still runs strong and had no noticeable impact on my electric bill when I swapped my old (newer) one out for it. It’s already been made. Why dump it / recycle it etc? Either also has an energy cost.

Totes. People’s driving habits are crap anyway. I used to challenge my wife to fuel efficiency contests when we shared a civic. I could blow her away. Now that she has a nanny built into her Prius and I don’t roll off the line in EV mode because sometimes I actually want to move uphill from a stop, she’s always like “can you not drive so aggressively it really wastes gas”.

    You’re slipping lately,

They sell a shit-tonne of used road-legal Japanese-market 4WD Suzuki ‘Carry’s into B.C. All old enough to qualify (over 10 years?) as they are right hand drive.

Supposed to be killer trucks, and insanely small. Actually have locking diffs in some from factory.

Even if you get an f350 and never turn the engine off you'll never make anywhere near the impact that companies make. The whole emissions and what not is a lie to shift the blame from large industries on to us.

Never understood why people are so anti-environment. I am old enough to see that all the “ hippie- nanny” laws have made a difference. Vehicles are safer, get better mileage, and have less impact on the environment. I know it’s all a pain in the ass, but it’s the right thing to do.

I think it’s just that people who tend to advocate for the environment also tend to flock with people who want to do some pretty stupid stuff and drag others who disagree into their quagmire.

Kudohs for braving the idiot :crapstorm: and trying to be part of the solution instead of the problem. There's a huge difference a 4.0 and going ego free in a 2.7.L but stick to 2nd gens. If you need a truck there's nothing wrong with buying the one that gets the best mileage as long as it does what you need.
