Tire question

I have a fat Bob's leveling kit on my truck plus the 1 inch body lift kit. Would I be able to fit 31 in tires without removing the black box? I see guys with just the fat Bob's kit and they have 31s but they removed the black box I think.

 

What black box are we talking about, is it attached to the frame?

 

Yeah there's a black box thing on the 5lugs in the wheel well that needs to be removed when putting on certain size tires.

 

That's on all of them, whether 5 or 6 lug. It's called the cab mount/body mount. I don't think you would need to do a cab mount chop to run 265/75R16 tires from what I've read, but I'll try to find a thread on it and post it here.

 

I wasn't sure if it was the same for 6 lugs or not. I've looked and from what I can tell everyone takes it off. But not everyone has the extra inch I have so I wasn't to sure

 

Do you want a wide tire or just taller? It's easier to fit a skinnier tire with less lift.

31-10.50-16 on ion wheels. 3” steel welded eBay spacer up front. Fat bobs add a leaf out back. No black boxes. Slight scrub on fender wells. Also Bilstein 5100 plus one inch 6 lug rear shocks. Also a 5 lugger

 

That's exactly what I have but I also put the body lift on mine so it won't have to mess with the black box. It only rubs at full lock on the sway bar
