    Also small “misfire” (hesitation) felt while in sixth gear in lower cruising speeds while trying to accelerate slowly... until I force a downshift by stepping on the accelerator more :confused:

    OP has not returned since posting yesterday evening, posted the question in the wrong forum, has ECT on, complaining about lack of shifting at highway speed... Looks a LOT like click bait.

    Assuming his confusion is real.....
    What mods have been done? Bigger tires, higher suspension, winch, armor, cap, rack??
    How much weight (cargo) is in the truck?
    In Colorado.... elevation? road grade?
    Time at current speed?
    Headwind, crosswind?
    Experience driving autos? Ever try a hair less pedal once desired speed achieved?
    This changes the torque request, load level, throttle request which any one or combination can help to "stimulate" an up shift.
    I have experienced this in most makes dating back to the late 60's including: Toyota, Nissan, Chevy, Dodge, Saturn, Subaru, Chrysler ​
    If you are on highway at desired speed, why not use cruise?
    You are aware it will hold speed on a regular/constant grade more accurately than human foot?
    ​
    I am sure one or more of my above questions could stimulate some flaming.

    I ask these questions due to relevance based in MY experience, none of these are meant as an attack. Not meant to offend but rather gain relevant data to provide OP assistance under the assumption that his question is legitimate.

    In ect mode mine shifts at about 3800rpm. At 72-73mph, your probably already in 6th gear.

    Click bait? Some of you folks are dicks. Like I said before. It's in 5th getting 16 miles a gallon. It should shift to 6th here. Ect on or off don't matter. No mods asshole and cruise is even worse when trying to up shift. If you feel the need to put out a disclaimer about being a dick, you are a dick.
