I bought 4x tpms sensors off of Amazon that claim they are pre-programmed to be tacoma compatible.
I had them installed by discount tire on my 2019 SR. DT said they couldnt get the relearn to work, so i had them get me the sensor IDs. which they provided in DEC. I then used a hex-dec conterter to get the 7 digit hex ID, which i loaded with my carista app. I still cant get any info from the sensors.

Any ideas?? Is it possible that the 2019s require a 8 digit hex code or something? Is it possible that the sensors are on the right frequency but not the right data type?

I think you're on to it there. Sensor #s look to have changed from 2nd gens to 3rd gens. I can't say for sure it's because they're using a different protocol (they could have changed part #s for all kinda reasons) but aftermarket options are different & less numerous.

So that + your experience says yep, still 315mhz, but not the same communication protocol. Probably also explains them giving you the HEX ID (printed on the sensors in the Amazon pic) since if they hit them with a TPMS reader with the correct vehicle selected, the sensors wouldn't respond. If you really want to find out, have someone tone them after picking a 2015 Tacoma instead.
