Ok Kidz, since I bought it here I'm going to post it for sale here first, then in other threads. Randy suggested the NoVA thread. Lastly, I'll post it out in the general B/S/T threads but wanted y'all to have first dibs.

    https://rcimetalworks.com/product/05-15-tacoma-rear-differential-skid/

Here's a couple pics of it after I ground all the loose powder coating off, inside and out, then shot it with 3 coarse of self etching primer, then 4 coats of bed liner paint. It's practically better than new. I also upgraded all the hardware to SS, and even replaced the rubber axle gaskets with a higher density rubber material.

    20190329_195850~2.jpg

    20190329_184246.jpg

I'm only asking what I paid for it. $150. And I'm throwing in the new hardware, rubber gaskets, and all my time to prep/paint, and the cost of paint.

Once I put out in the general public threads the price is going up.

Note! This does not fit a 3rd Gen!
    Thanks,
    Rob

Gas light goes on with roughly 4 gallons still in the tank. Ask me how I know...:anonymous:

Ok...I'll tell you. I have driven almost 80 miles after my gas light came on. When I did finally fuel up, I put more than the 21.1 gallons spec'd into the tank. I had to have been running on fumes.

I chalk it up to the engineers being gracious when they designed the truck since our trucks have such phenomenal mileage, it gives it the range almost anywhere in the country to make it to the next station without running out. Luckily, I never have because I heard it is hell on the components to run them dry.

My previous vehicle...a Chevy Cavalier (high school kid at the time) stranded me once. Gaa light never came on. Went to leave work, put it in gear, it rolled out of my parking space and died. Thought maybe I stalled it, but it wouldn't refire. Scanned over to my trip meter (have always tracked my mileage) and was over 400 miles on the 13 gallon tank...knew immediately I was out. Had to have my dad bring me 5 gallons. Lol never relied on the gas light in that car again!

Kinda sorta. The part on the winch the controller plugs into was fucked, so I’d call that a winch issue still. Either way it was a bummer that I couldn’t winch myself when I got high centered. At least it’s an easy fix and an opportunity to improve upon it. I plan on a dab of dielectric grease in there to prevent corrosion and keep this from happening again.

    Then there's this! :smokertransformer:

    20190331_183017.jpg

I had a 50/50 chance on the mate up of the IFS & Tranny skids and I should have gone with my gut. Luckily everything was still a loose fit so I texted Randall and he confirmed my fear. I had it backwards. The IFS goes on the outside.

    10870.jpg

So I had to drop the IFS and switch the setup.

Then to be able to get the Transfer Case skid, support bracket frame mounting holes to line up, I had loosen the three bolts holding the support to the skid. Only then was I able to get the bolts into the frame locations. I also had to use a longer bolt (thankfully I keep hardware at the house and had a longer bolt) for the brake line attachment bracket location. There was no way to reuse the OEM bolt. Once I had those two frame bolts in on the support brace I had to retighten the 3 bolts holding it to the skid. Lastly I tightened the two bolts that hold the Tranny skid to the IFS skid.

All I can say is, once it's all bolted up and tightened down, it becomes a structural part of truck and even though you remove OEM cross braces, all three of these skids make the underbelly impenetrable, and I feel, more sound!

    Once again @Mobtown Offroad FTMFW!!!!!

Thanks again to Jerry @UntamedTaco and Randall @EatSleepTacos !! Jerry really saved the day with his instructions link, and Randall saved me from myself with his assistance!

Total time including setup (jacks, jack stands, ramps, tools), bolting everything up, then redoing the IFS skid, and the workaround on the Transfer skid support (includes fishing a nut outta the frame! That shit added 20 min alone!). Then dicking around with the diff diaper! Then putting everything away, and wrapping up the diff diaper.

Almost 4 hours! The fact that I did this by myself, miraculous!!
