I recently purchased a 2016 TRD Off Road and the dealer had brand new Falken Wildpeak H/T tires installed on it. I love how quiet and smooth they are on dry roads, but I live in a state where snowy/icy roads are commonplace in winter and I plan on doing some off-roading in the summer, i.e. dirt/mud (nothing extreme). Should I get myself some all terrain tires and sell the highway tires as soon as I can? Or is there any reason I should keep the H/T tires? Any opinions would help, thanks!

Before the inevitable “buy winter tires for winter!” dogpile, I just got through a Fairbanks, AK winter with Cooper AT3 4S’s and I’m very very happy with them. If your Falkens have the 3 peak mountain snowflake symbol, they’ll probably be fine for 99% of your driving on pavement and probably 75-90% of most not extreme off-road year round.

I drive enough and I’m cheap enough that I’d probably try to wear the Falkens down this summer and replace them with the AT3 4S’s in fall (which is what I did with my stock HT tires).

I agree with this, if I were to only hav one tire all year long it'd be the Cooper AT3 4S
