I know there is a thread on this somewhere but I couldnt find it. New truck 19 with a 2.7. has less than 1400 miles on it. Ive noticed a few times while on the highway and the cruise on at 70 the truck will downshift then shift up over and over like a loop. if that makes any sense at all.. it was doing it so bad on the last trip that I turned off the cruise and just mashed the gas to make it change gears. I was going up a hill as well. I really dont want to fool with the dealer and them wasting my time and tell me there isnt anything they can do. I know this is a fairly common issue. But is it common enough that the dealers have a fix?

Its due to the lack of torque. Also, how fast were you going?

If you have the ECT button, I'd use that to avoid the downshifting issues on hills.

I do have that. How bad does running it all the time effect gas mileage? Is it hugely noticeable?

I don't use mine all the time, only when I need it.
