Since it's difficult to get my hands on some Meso turn signals, I'm resorting to a temporary mod to the mirror turn signals. I'm wondering if anyone has plastidipped their turn signals with black to get rid of the chrome.

I've never really used plastidip before, but I was going to try to slap on one or two coats of dip on them, assuming that the coats will be light enough to let the light shine through..

I don't think I've ever seen anyone try to tint lights with plasti dip. I wouldn't think that even with one layer it would allow much light through or really look that good or be very durable. You'd probably be better off with some VHT Nightshade or something similar. Tape off everything nearby or pull the light .

Rust-Oleum makes a peelable tint spray now and I used it on mine. I wanted all the chrome gone and didnt care if the light shined through or not but to get them completely black I sprayed a lot of layers on it. The recommended 4 layers and I could still see the chrome so I kept going. Only been done for 2 weeks now but so far it is holding up very nice. Lays down smooth when dry. Turn signal works great at night and visible during the day. 20190319_170417.jpg 20190319_170441.jpg

Damn that looks good. You remember the exact number of layers you put on it? Also how much light did the spray block?

TBH, I probably have like 12 or so layers on each one. I wanted them completely blacked out and at night it has a cool looking matte orange look to it. In the daytime you can see it but not as bright I guess. I can take more pics with the signal on here in a little bit. I did remove them to paint them. Very easy job.
