Is there aftermarket hood scope grill or insert I can buy to make my hood Functional?
I don't want to modify them but rather looking for flow thru air grill or plastic insert. 2019 TRD sports
    Thank you

    I don't know of any...

But maybe more importantly, what's your intent?

Reduce underhood temps? Are they an issue so far with your truck? A forward facing scoop is not good for reducing underhood temps when located in front of the radiator.

Ram air intake? Plumbing it into the stock airbox isn't going to be very simple. Also, I doubt it would help increase airflow, as the truck isn't currently "starving" for air.

To be "functional"? Fair enough, but I don't think it will provide any sort of function, other than allowing debris and water into the engine bay.

I'm sure this post is going to stir up debate... it has in previous postings.

Won't do anything, but let more water and dirt in to engine compartment.

Well, I live in South Florida (key west) and it's so hot here during summer. I can sacrifice dirt and water for good engine cooling.

You won’t get any cooling effect. Could make it worse. Trust the Toyota engineer’s.

The hood scoop can never be made "functional".
Research; hood scoops, positive/negative pressure, ram air effect...

That’s what the radiator and coolant does.

If you ever watch water droplets on your hood you’ll notice they dance around slowly. This is because the hood is an area of low turbulence as the air moves over it (about 2”-3” above the hood). Opening the hood scoop is going to have a minimally beneficial result.

There IS a company that makes hoods with a functional “ram-air” hood scoop. But that wouldn’t do anything unless you modify your stock intake airbox
