I have a 99 taco with a busted windshield washer reservoir. It's all cracked and leaks more than the titanic. I've been to multiple auto parts store and nobody has it. I've also gone to multiple junk yard and it seems that every single truck I was able to find also had a cracked tank. I wonder if it is a defect. I've even seen tacos for sale with the same issue. Does anybody know where I could find one?

Google this "Tacomaworld windshield washer reservoir replacement" I did and found where you can take that old one out and replace with a different style that sits in the engine bay on the fender. I was even able to use existing holes to mount it. Looks OEM. Heck - maybe a picture I posted of it will show up somewhere. lol Hands down one of the best mods. My suspension flexes more than stock and smashed my old one. Hence the "bad design" idea. Good luck!

I was able to get away with just using fusion tape on the filler neck. Only part of the assembly that was cracked on my vehicle.

Same here. The original reservoir's neck became a brittle and cracked like a spider web. That was in 2004 so no more than 9 years old. I got new EOM (from a dealer) and this one is still solid (15 years and counting). It must be the plastic used originally was not the best choice but obviously they fixed it in no later than 2004.

Yep, I took out my old one (also cracked), and got a new one (Amazon link above) to relocate it to the engine bay to make room for my new bumper.

If you have abs, you have to move (bend) the bracket a little, or you could drill new holes. I used a riv-nut to re-mount the ABS bracket.

If I had to do it over I would go with this one:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P9WK6C6
Or if I still had a semi svelte wallet, I would consider this flash set up:
    https://snowboundcustoms.shop/produ...oir-relocation-3rd-gen-4runner-1st-gen-tacoma

Alas due to domestication, the wallet is about as empty as an upside down glass.

I got mine from the dealer and it was about twice that, but it is vulnerable under the edge of the plate bumper.
Or go with the abs model.
Next time I will just fab one out of abs pipe and fittings, similar to how I have seen it done here on the forum.
Since my dinosaur version rig (98) has the shoe box sized charcoal canister in front of the master cylinder I located the auxiliary fuse panel ( and the ARB compressor beneath the fuse panel) on the passenger side, so the option of using this item is a non starter. Not sure how much of a headache it would be to relocate the charcoal canister aft where the later 1st generation tacos have them.
Or maybe that could be an option, not very high on the list right now
