Suggested detailing products?

I have a 2014 Tacoma Blue Ribbon Metallic and i live in Vermont. I wash it and always dry it with micro fiber towels when the weather allows.I like to keep my truck clean. i did put a coat of Nu finish on it last year.( I know very amateur)

I have been reading post and looking at websites like chemical guys. OMG where to start??????

can someone recommend me a few good products to use? the paint is still in really good condition but i want to make it pop.

Wash?
Clay Bar?
Polish?
Wax?

any help i would appreciate.

 

You are on the right track. I would recommend Adam’s over Chemical Guys due to the multiple products CG has that do the same thing.

I would go to Autogeek and join their forum. Lots of great how to stuff on there plus they sell a lot of great products.

That's the loaded question, 10 experienced detailers could give you 10 different answers and all be right, particularly for the items you mentioned. Besides a product that is good for one user may not be ideal for another. Can't recommend skimming over threads at autogeek and autopia enough, both sites (same company) sell dozens of brands many with full product lines. But look at the forums on these sites, not so much what product to buy but why you'd want a particular product over another. If you read enough threads you'll find something that will suit you. Use google to search these sites when you have something specific like "clay mitt" site:autogeekonline.net

This is my go to paint protection, it's a polymer so you can use it stand alone or stack it with a ceramic treatment.

 

Adams guard and gloss is a solid product for spray and wipe, great 2-3 month protection, will last longer than beadmaker but beadmaker has some intense shine if you apply and let cure as it states. I have a current application on mine and water beading is still tight after a week and a half with a couple rain storms. I bought a gallon so ill use it after every other wash as a LSP this spring/summer.
But for winter time up there i would recommend a stronger sealant like power lock or a wax like

$19 collinite 845 insulator wax-easy to use carnauba+polymer wax sealant-high gloss shine+durable hydrophobic beading & long lasting paint protection for cars/boats/trucks/rvs & motorcycles (16 fl oz)

collinite 845, if you do not feel like using a DIY ceramic coating.

Soaps - find something PH balanced. Griots is good, CG extreme wash and wax leaves a real nice shine and does not harm finish, good old Meguiars gold class will work just fine also.
Polish... if the paint is good with minor defects, grab something like Blackfire One Step, then you only need to worry about the LSP spray for extra shine and protection after washes, etc.
(couple other notables, HD speed, Mezerna 3 and 1 or final finish.)
Clay - can use something of the shelf or grab a clay mitt on Amazon and use when washing with the soap as lubricant. Shouldn't need to clay all that much.
Waxes/sealants - my personal favorite is blackfire SIo2 spray sealant for durability and shine combined, Adams guard and gloss may be 2nd, and I am currently trying beadmaker because i am a product slut. The gloss is nuts. I also have some hydro silex which i haven't tried but hear good things.
- Actual wax- (for potection) collinite 845 or megs #16 if you are lucky enough to have a can or find some.
- Actual liquid sealant - Blackfire paint sealant, Klasse, Wolfgang deep gloss, powerlock
DIY ceramic doesent get much easier than mckees paint coating. Something to consider for the winter months.
