Put new wheels and tires on today. 265/70/17, with -12 offset. I have 5100s set to the 2nd notch up front, so .65" up. It rubs a lot with the wheels turned to the left if I'm on an incline. Unfortunately that will be every day backing out of my driveway. With the 5100s I can go up more in the front, though surprisingly .65" got me level (I have a Bakflip tonneau and OEM bed mat which may bring me down in the back a bit), plus there are no vibes and I'm happy with the ride. So, I don't really want to lift the front more, and I'm not sure if one more notch would even fix the rub, but it's an option. Or I could trim/mold, though that's a bit out of my comfort zone to tackle on my own, so I'd need some assistance. What would you do in my shoes?

    Too few to list.
I don't think it's rubbing the body mount but just the plastic liner. Easy fix would be to cut the liner a little. Either that or get an alignment and have them try to move your caster to positive at least around 2 and see if that would solve the rubbing. Did you get an alignment after the 5100's?

Before you do anything get an alignment and ask them to adjust your caster to +3.0 or higher. This will move your front tires forward and should resolve the majority of your problem. That size tire should not be a problem but it may be the off-set.

As others said. Do the alignment first. If it’s hitting the plastic try heating and see if you can reform it out of the way. I’d try that before cutting anything.

I appreciate the suggestion, but respectfully, fuck that. Option 3, as much as it would suck, is just put the Ray10s and 265/70/16s back on. It's just not worth all that hassle to go up a tire size.

I did get an alignment after the 5100s, but that was with the old wheel/tire set up, so we didn't have this obstacle to overcome.

Yeah, this seems like a really pronounced rub, which surprised me, as many have claimed not to rub with this size tire at stock height. I had -12 offset wheels on previously, but 265/70/16 tires. No rubbing at all with those. Is there any negative consequence to adding that much caster in?

Actually, more caster makes the truck drive with more stability and less prone to wander. The only problem may be getting that much caster without aftermarket upper control arms. You should be able to get more than you have now and it will help with the rubbing a lot.

Seems like the reasonable thing to do is just cut the fenders, chop the cab mount, regear and go with 35's

    Alignment with higher caster
    And heat gun.

    I had similar issue when I had my 265 70 17.
Just heat gun and push back. It's just the plastic

FWIW, unless things have shifted, I'm already at 1.2, per the alignment sheet after I had the 5100s put on.

I mean, I definitely not hanging onto it, but I and others have been surprised how level .65" in the front got me, so that was just a guess.

1.2 is not enough to clear those tires. as close to 3.0 as you can get is where you want to be. I had 275/70/17s and rubbed like crazy with 2.0 caster. Increased it to 3.0 and all was good.
