Is the 2lo guy still around???

Found this thread 2lo kit for 2nd gens | Tacoma World and got excited. Tried pm, and have been waiting (knowing that he is busy.) Does anyone know Up2NoGood? He still doing these?

I just read that and it don’t make sense. It’s 2 low for 4wd models only? So why not just put it in 4L why would you need 2L

 

Allows you to have the gearing/torque advantage of 4lo without the steering restrictions and potential drivetrain binding of 4wd

 

it's just as cheap to put an FJ case in than it is to buy one of those 2lo modules.

 

Yep...but Jaimes said recently in a post he was going on a trip or something and have limited access to TW.

Be patient. He’s got a really good product in the 2Lo module. I love mine!!

That might be true if it was cheaper, the module is around $300 and plug and play. How much to add an FJ t-case?

 

I Love my 2wd low module. @Up2NoGood is the man. Unless prices have gone up, it was $250 - can you buy and install an FJ case for that? Last I checked a used FJ case was $400 before install - and I did check. I was really motivated to get 2 low. Just ask Jaimes.

 

The 2Lo is a great add!! I’m a 2Lo owner, user and get no benefit from @Up2NoGood in return.

 

Why 2 lo? Back when trucks were built to work (ohhhhhhh....) the transmissions came with 2 lo-we called it granny gear. Why? Big hills, big loads and not so much horse power. I pull a trailer, my truck (will) gets used in the woods, and there are plenty of times when 2 lo would be a benefit (to my way of thinking.) I will continue to be patient! Thanks for the replies.

 

The 2-low kit is perfect. High quality, easy install and works great. Be patient and wait. You won't be disappointed.

Still alive lol... sorry for not being around much lately. I have a business outside of TW and it has been flat out swamped for some time now. The downside to that is everyone is working some pretty long days including / especially myself.

You can make your own for about $20 in parts.
Basically what it does, is it fools the 4WD ECU into thinking that the ADD has been engaged, when in fact it has not.
You can do the job with relays, or you can do it with transistors.

 

Holy crap. $250 for a "module"? I need to make some cheap electronics and start taking it to the bank in the 3rd gen forum!

 

Suckers exist to take advantage of, and there's one born every minute.

 

That said, the module made by Up2NoGood looks very well built and truely is plug and play (except for the optionally mounted external switch).

Since you're so smart and know exactly how the 4WD ECU works, here's a challenge for you so that you can take advantage of "suckers". Build a plug and play diagnostic box with LEDs for diagnosing a nonworking 4WD system. ECU sends command to ADD, check, ADD limit switch confirms engagement, check... Should only take $20 worth of components.

 

Cheaper and less stressful to just swap to a manual transfer case

Build one for $20. yeah, right, sure... Of course it'll look like a hack put it together. How about providing at least one useful comment in any thread?

That's the exact opposite of what was designed and built by @Up2NoGood. If you followed his thread, you'd see the top notch PC board layout and solder connections along with proper plugs.

Do me a favor, add me to the ever growing list of blocked members that you keep referring to.
