I used the search feature and couldn't find the exact answer to my question. Regionally speaking how are the Cooper STT Pros with the weather conditions we experience here in the northwest?

I am also looking at the Goodyear Duratracs, so if you have experience with those I am all ears.

    Any other suggestions?

I do like wheeling in all sorts of different conditions but realistically I don't get to do it as often as I would like so these tires will see mostly highway miles ~8k/yr

Thank you for your time and input, I really appreciate it and look forward to getting to know you all better.

I have the St Maxx, the AT versions. Super quiet for how aggressive they are. Have been great everywhere so far and compare more equally to the duratracs than the Pro (which are an MT)

Awesome, I'll add that tire to my list. Thank you for the reply. How many miles do you have on them and what size are you running?

I have the STT Pro's over here in the Snow Belt of the East Coast. And I live in a very hilly area and this is the first time I didn't need to use 4 Wheel Drive top get up hills. These tires are FUCKING AMAZING is all I can say. Great in the rain as well.

I know I'm not your way but I barely keep tires for a year. These will be my go to set now.

Get STMaxx. Best all around tire I’ve ran.

STT Pros are nice and look incredible, but complete overkill for your use case if we're being realistic. ST Maxx's will be better all around as you're hearing from others.

I've had mine for 6k miles and loving them (came from Wildpeaks). Pretty quiet for how aggressive they are and they've performed great on/off-road

We have ran both the Pro and the Maxx here on the farm, Lots of gravel and mud( irrigation), Snow etc. The Maxx gets the vote from us. Better ride,And better all around performance in the wear department. Gravel is hard on tires and the Maxx beat out the pro for us.Better traction on wet roads as well. The Pro looks more off road, But if your going to be driving more on highway I would go with the Maxx.

I really appreciate the feedback and will put the Maxx on my shortlist.

I guess I should also mention I am looking for 285/75r16 size tires. The ST Maxx comes in at 64lbs in that size and is the heaviest I have seen. The Duratracs come in at 54lbs. I would assume 10lbs per tire would be noticeable.

I'm running Duratracs on my 3rd gen. I have 24K miles on them now, still at 70%. I've had great luck with them. Smooth driving, good wet traction, good in the snow and ice, no issues on the gravel roads. Much better luck with these than my last set of K02s.

I've had wildpeaks on 2 different vehicles and they were great IMO. How do they compare to the ST Maxx? With the ST Maxx being a hybrid I assume that they are slightly better in all conditions except maybe road noise.

Your assumption is correct. The Wildpeaks are good but don't compare to the ST Maxx's at all if we're talking about mud or deep-ish snow. I noticed just a bit more road noise with the ST Maxx's. My only complaint is they seem to develop an annoying flat spot if you park the truck for more than a few days. Goes away after driving for a bit. Really only a problem for us dudes that don't daily drive our trucks.
I run 285s. The weight difference had no noticeable impact on my MPGs or acceleration.
