Every dealer ship I call in my area don’t seem to know what I am talking about. Should I show them the pdf?

I see TCI 5133 is only for the 16-17 version, is there no update for the 18 yet?

I dealt with toyota canada on this last summer. I phoned a couple dealers in my area and had no luck, advising it didn't include my 2018. Toyota Canada said the TCI was updated to include 2018 model years in August 2018 IIRC. Call Toyota Canada, they were actually helpful in my case. They got the dealers I talked to as well to make sure they were "properly informed" and my closest dealer called me within an hour of hanging up with Toyota Canada. Had the update done within the week.

However, the update hasn't made a big difference...

Thanks for your response Rex and helping me move forward. Good to know I'm not missing out on too much.

I posted this earlier on the OVTune AT thread.

I have a 2017 TRD OR, 285/70r17 Nitto's, ARE Overland cap, was on 04B03, 1.05/93 tune. Ran great!

Went to the dealer today to get flashed to 04B04 via 2 TSB's I got off of TW (thanks!).

Heard some stories where others tried to get flashed to 04B04 and dealer would not do it.
So what I did was flash back to stock(though that's not needed, but I was covering all bases....just in case), then took 2 copies of the TSB's, circled the 'issue' on each TSB and then wrote in big letters near the bottom of each TSB what I wanted done.
I told the service person, I had both the surge issue and the stumble issue especially when driving at altitude, I mentioned when I was driving up Colorado(have not been there in the truck, but you know, it could/would happen right!)....down here it's flat Texas Gulf Coast.

I also told the service guy that I was using 93 octane gas since it seemed to help some with the TSB issues noted(Texas Tall tale). The intent was so they wouldn't drive the truck and then say they couldn't duplicate the 'issue's'...then no 04B04 flash.
    Worked like a charm...

I just flashed the 04B04, 87 Perf tune this afternoon.
I do like the tip-in probably because of the larger tires and ARE cap, does ride a tiny bit rough shift wise, but just very slightly....going to drive it a few hundred miles as has been mentioned here to give it time to settle in.
If not then over to 91 tune.

    Happy....happy...happy.

I took my newly purchased '17 Sport to the dealer and told the Service mgr that the motor acted "different" at around 40-45 mph. He said like it's "Surging" (TSB buzzword)? I replied "Yes, that's the word! Lol, they did the TSB.

I only read the 1st page, so apologies if this has been covered...
I assume this is for the V6 trucks only, or does it also apply to the 2.7? TIA!

I know I am two days late to the party but my 2019 TRD off-road V6, can’t find a Fing gear on the highway. It shifts constantly. And every time you go to takeoff from a red light a damn Volkswagen beetle will smoke my ass leave me in the dust. it’s like I’ve got a 10,000 pound trailer behind it.
It can’t pull itself out of a wet paper bag. I had it sixteen months and 15,642 miles and I am ready to sell this turd. I love the look, the ride and just over all. You said the cruise at 70 miles an hour I live outside Atlanta and you ride on 20 and that thing is constantly downshifting every 60 to 90 seconds if it’s the slightest bit of an incline it’ll turn around and drop a gear and tack it to Dam 4000 RPMs trying to hold 70 it’s just a crew cab Trd I don’t get it somethings got to be wrong. I’m looking at may be getting one of those new Jet performance 40105 to see if that will help. Any thoughts I am all ears!

Unfortunately, nothing from Toyota seems to help....I've had all the updates I believe and it's only marginally better at best. Still a slug to drive....seems it's ALL or NOTHING.

Oh and if you are pulling a -4,000 pontoon boat and trailer forget it.....11 MPG and it HATES it!

I have a 2017 Tacoma and there are so many threads regarding the tranny/ecu tsb. What is the latest tsb today that I need to present to the dealer? I have 75k on the odo. I’ve never done this update before. I live in San Diego and closest dealer is Kearny Mesa.

    Thanks!!
