So this is something I’ve wondered for a while, do you really gain much clearance cutting the bedsides like that? I don’t know what situation I could end up in that it’d be beneficial

Not criticism, genuinely want to learn

If you are coming from an angle pointing down and the trail immediately angles up. You need a higher back end to not drag it. Or if you are in the rocks and you come off a rock your back end can drag the rock you just came off of.

It's called departure angle. Jeeps have a good one because there is nothing really behind the rear wheel... Our trucks have a terrible departure angle because we have a foot of bed hanging off the ass end.

You can fix it by "bobbing" (shortening) the bed behind the rear wheel. Or by raising it... Or both.

Everything is good here. I see you've been killing it on the mods, 0-100 real quick. Finally got a winch so I'll be changing out my radiator and installing the winch soon. Thinking of getting a bed rack made. Who did you go through for your swingout bumper if you don't mind me asking?

Seeing your build thread makes me hesitant on making a build thread of my own, I ain't got nothing compare to you :) Can't wait to see your truck again in person.

@Pella helped me out A LOT with the swing out and bumper. Couldn't have done it without him.

We totally should get together sometime soon. I was just in Fresno today, picking up the sliders from Matt (Recycled Toyotas), we just turned and burned back home though.

BTW... That dude from Recycled Toyotas is WAY cool. Thanks for suggesting him.
