I like mine ,the only reason I would go with something different is a more aggressive sidewall with equal tread warranty. Just to try something different.

 

I honestly hate talking about tires. 1) I second guess everything because when it comes down to it, they are all rubber 2) I overthink every little thing, from the number of sipes, to the distance between tread blocks and on and on 3) I am so freaking vain so I want a Super Swamper look with the road properties of a high end all season radial.

I literally drive myself nuts when it comes to tires.

No studs . Winter are 16” Steely , summer 285/70 17 on American Racing Baja matte black !

 

Since I started caring, I have run at least 7 different types/brands. I thought I would be so happy with the Duratracs since I had them on my Tundra and on my 4Runner but then at 30k miles on the 4R they started to get really loud and had a serious pulsating hum like they were delaminating. Then the traction in the rain went to hell. I need tires that I can rely on 100%.

The Taco got the ridge Grapplers. So far they have been fantastic. They are not cheap though. And they are heavy AF! But they ride like glass and are not really loud. They do get flat spots in the cold but smooth out. In the snow they do very well but I think on icy roads they would be a little sub par compared to any tire with more sipes. They are wearing like iron though and the wear is so minimal they still look new. I have 24 ish thousand miles on them.

I've always had trouble with Duratracs in the Wet. Gets real bad when there about half worn down.

I'm glad they work for you. Likely there are more KO2s on the road than any other tire. When I had them on my Dodge (gasser) and my 3/4 ton diesel they sucked ass in the snow. They would load up with snow (and mud in the summer) so bad they became slicks. And yes, I would spin them clear (that is the fix everyone that uses them knows) but as soon as they were clear and I would move forward they would load up right away again. I couldn't wait to get them off my trucks. They were never a consideration again.

I like to think of my truck as a swiss army knife. I want it to be prepared for anything.
I guess as long as you never go where it snows you'll be fine.

And in all fairness snow does not have the same properties in different regions/areas.
The snow here in Maryland will be different than the snow in say New Mexico, or Canada.
Ours is slicker than red clay mud though most of the time and that is our soil type,
so in the wetter parts of the state or anywhere in the state when it rains that is what
your faced with.

Like I said though, i would not bet against there being more of them than any other tire on the road.

Honestly, people down here don't run them as much as Toyo, or Cooper... some of my truck friends don't even know what BFGoodrich is!

So True, Rob. Snow types vary as much as snow conditions. Never used to bother swappin' Summer/Winters much but some of the New rubber compounds grip like a Damn on ice so that's got me sold on dedicated Winters again.
