I use the Ultimate Liquid Wax every other wash and Chemical Guys Jet Seal twice a year. Overkill? Probably. But I love it

Honestly, i used Liquid Glass over 20 years ago. I remember it made my car look like it had a nice glaze on it and shined well for awhile, i dont remember exactly how long it lasted. As for the Ultimate, i like it because it doesnt whiten the black plastics. I waxed my truck about a month ago and it looks like it still had wax on it, but doesn’t feel like it. After washing, i just finish it up with some Meguiars Ultimate Quik Wax and it brings back the slickness. My truck is in direct sunlight the entire day so no break from the sun.

This! And it holds up to that north shore salt spray pretty well!

Recently tried the Meguiar’s Ceramic Wax and it seems pretty solid. After applying the weekend before I just hosed off pollen and wind dried driving out to one of our field offices. This isn’t a great pic but if ya zoom a little you can see the shine/reflection.AC80A576-EE79-4AEA-8FCE-89BB3B312E81.jpg

Asking about paint protection is almost like asking about religion or politics - everyone has a different opinion, but none are wrong, just different.

    Here's what I do -

Annually, I clay the vehicle, then follow-up with a light polish, sealant, glaze and wax. I use Griot's Garage products. After each wash, I follow up with a spray wax to get any residual water marks are smudges.

Again, it's all about personal choice and how much time you have and/or want to spend on your vehicle. I like to detail my vehicles so time isn't an issue for me.

I just ordered some McKees 37 ceramic products from AutoGeek.net (GREAT source for products), and plan on trying them in a few weeks. The ceramic field seems to be taking off, and getting easier to apply. The pro detailers have had a monopoly on them.

Just claybared and waxed my truck last Saturday...used Meguairs Ultimate on the truck and Turtle wax Ice spray on the wheels. 303 on the trim. Looked good.
I will repeat in six months along with hand washes as needed.

No wax, sealant or ceramic? Just bare? I can roll with that.

    New paint will do that.

Actually what you want is the water to sheet off, not bead.

The one thing I hate about wind drying this thing is the concave lip on the rear of the hood. Always gathers droplets and they find whatever crap was not caught in the rinse. Or I may be just a bit ocd with the truck.

Absolutely, but this time of year with the pollen bomb I tolerate those for a couple of weeks.

Try Duragloss 111. Crazy glossy. And very durable. And it lasts even longer if applied with the Duragloss Polish Bonding agent, Duragloss 601. The two products together kinda act like a 2 part epoxy. Good stuff.

I put on Griots sealant once every 6-9 months, then I put on a carnuba wax every two weeks. It looks amazing.

But I work so hard to do a touchless wash or a 2 bucket wash, and I feel like the effort is wasted when I use a paste wax. I did get swirl marks from a paste wax application.

Maybe a spray on wax/sealant is the best option

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Have been a once a year claybar and water/sealant applies for decades. Switched to a ceramic coat from down the street at autogeek and very happy so far. Been 16 months and still working great.
