    Hey all!

After 18 (mostly) good years with my trusty 2001 4Runner, she had finally become more trouble than she was worth. Despite precautions, the Ohio winters took their toll. The corrosion and rust had gotten to the point that it was nearly impossible to work on myself and was starting to poke through in a couple of small spots on the body. The periods between repairs were becoming shorter and I was getting tired of surprises. A few big problems popped up simultaneously and I had to be realistic, it was time to say goodbye.

I had my eye on the new generation of Tacoma when it came out, and after having one as a loaner for about a week last fall I was really impressed. It's my first pickup, so I had some concerns about practical storage but I'm finding it to be better than the old truck in hidden compartments and little cubbies to store things. The ride is phenomenal and I'm happy to be back in a manual transmission vehicle.

I was what I guess you could call an active lurker on Yotatech and found it to be an incredible resource with some great people. I can already tell that the community here is equally as knowledgable and passionate about their trucks.

Welcome! Great truck, I got the same one and traded in my 2005 4-runner sport. Had similar experiences after good years.
