I mean it undoubtedly happens where people have bad tires, @skiploder can attest to this. But to say "lots" is just being disingenuous.

    Some stuff
I have had issues with mine. Have had 2 replaced. They have been road forced, blah blah.
    Not happy.
Sucks, because other than the vibration/shake/balancing, theyre a great tire. Wet, dry, snow, etc...

That thread is new with 3 pages so far. Half are people claiming how great they are.

This thread is much longer and is all about people loving them.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/falken-wildpeak-at3w-265-75-r16.525672/

No MFG is perfect, but it seems the positive reviews definitely out weigh the negative reviews.

Either way let us know what you get and how it goes.

You cant find a tire that is flawless. For instance KO2s are notorious for issues but that doesnt make them a bad tire.

    Go with the Falkens

I’ve been very happy with my Wildpeaks in 65/70/17. I had them put on in January via discount tire. They have been good in the snow (much better than stock) andwith respect to road noise/ride quality

Talk to Matt @Discount Tire Direct . He will give you fair feedback on the different tires.

Ordered the wildpeaks in 265/75/16. Now I'll have to decide if l'll still switch to my nokian snow tires in the winter or sell them.

You shouldn’t need any other tire for snow

Had wildpeaks on my 2015. No complaints beyond some minor balancing issues. Looked good. Nice road manners. Decent offroad in the sand and dirt dragging our flat bed with offroad toys through the desert. Would buy again without a doubt. Got the discount tire credit card and got a $50 rebate. I think we got them installed for just over $600 otd.

Which are better in snow/ice? Vermonter asking. I’ve also narrowed down my stock OR tires to these two. Appreciate the thread OP.

My wildpeaks performed so far above my expectations in the frozen stuff. Ice, crud, powder, slush, they were flawless and confidence inspiring in all conditions. I hear theyre great in mud and sand too, but i have no experience in that realm yet.

These were my thoughts in late February after putting them through their first winter in a snowy climate

After several months of winter and a lot of snow driving, and approx 7k miles, I feel comfortable to give a full review of my SL rated tires..

    - Not loud at all. No louder than stock that I can perceive
    - MPG went from 22.5 avg with stock tires to 20 avg with these.
    - Do fine in rain
    - They do pretty well in Snow, mostly good enough for me because I know how to slow down and drive appropriate for conditions.. They aren't remotely close to snow tires though, and what I mean by that is I can always feel where the limit of these tires are and have to slow down more than i'd like. Traction isn't the problem, its braking. Their weakness is slush, where they feel like they are hydroplaning (slushoplaning?). When there is snow on it, I still have to engage 4x4 to get up my driveway most of the time whereas in past vehicles with snow tires I only ever had issue on glare ice. When I engage 4x4 though i've never remotely even come close to being stuck, even when moving over 12 inches of unplowed snow.
    - Wear seems to be very good so far. Don't have an exact measurement though

I'm pretty impressed. Considering i paid less than $375 these have been stellar. Snow performance has been what I expected. Depending on treadwear I may strongly consider snow tires next winter, I am not sure. These just feel a little loose at times in snow and that makes my butt pucker considering the poor quality of plowing and the roads where I do the bulk of my driving (Nothing like coming up on a road that was flat the last time you drove it but now it has massive frost heaves and is covered in ice and snow).
