Looks good! Is it bolted to the top of the fender?

Yeah, you'll have to drill a couple holes and take off your inner fender liner to get to the nut on the back, but otherwise it's pretty straightforward.

I need some advice/motivation. I daily a 2017 Mustang and have a 1991 Toyota 4x4 Pickup regular cab that is my side truck. I’ve owned several Tacoma’s and I’ve been thinking about getting back into one. I went and looked at a 2012 at one of the local lots. Two owner, 86k miles, well maintained. One part of me wants to pull the trigger and the other wants to hold onto my 2017 Mustang. Two completely different types of vehicles I know. Do any of you wish you had got a larger cab or does the regular cab work for you?

both rides look great . I have never had anything but regular cabs short beds all my life , roughly two dozen I'd say. I understand now days this is not considered a short bed any more but the late model short beds look home made to me

I do believe I scored an insane deal gents. King 2.5 resis f/r in good shape, had em filled with nitro today, no leaks. Got them for $800. I’ll fully rebuild them around the end of summer.

I've also only had regular cab short bed pickups for the last 28 years with a couple of 93-2000 Camaro Z28's and SS's mixed in. I've never needed the extra room or storage and right now I have a 6' tree trunk section sitting in the bed waiting to go to the brush dump tomorrow morning. It's easier to tow a boat with a regular cab (other than the lack of power) and easier to park. It's also a good excuse to not drive when going out with friends since you don't have the room.

You can always purchase a topper for that truck if your need dry secure storage down the road. Single cab yota’s have served me well including my previous 94 and my current 13.

I’ve only had RC Tacoma’s an 08 5 lug and my current 11 4x4. I’ve never regretted the lack of space becuse it works well for me. In the past I’ve had a 94 FJ80, 89 4Runner, and a 90 Previa which all obviously had more space but I just never made use out of it and I really disliked not having a bed with the exception of the 89 Runner which was still kinda meh. Anyway I’m sure you’ll get it figured out!

I love the regular cab, but if I were to do it again I think I would get an access cab. Ive had both previously, and I did like the extra space. I regularly have to carry 3 large bags for work, and if there is snow in the bed, my cab is full. I replaced the bench seat which was a great improvement. It is nice to not Be able to take more than 1 person though.

Love my RC. Only downside is we are expecting twins soon and I won't be able to transport them. In most cases, we will be able to take my wife's car, but not 100% relying on her vehicle would be really nice for the times when she is elsewhere and the kids need a ride.

Other than that, zero reason to have anything bigger for me.

What slide in do you have? I've been considering one and it seems like our options are a little limited with payload in mind.

I've seen the anchors, but no seatbelt switch for me. Funny there is an anchor for the middle seat too lol.

Its a four wheel camper. Alittle pricey, but occasionally you can find good deals used. Payload of regular cabs from my understanding is higher than any other trim levels. I regeared and have a heavy suspension for the camper.

There are sensors, anything under 45#’s airbag will be off. I drive with my daughter (2) often and always glance over to make sure it’s off. It’s honestly super convenient her sitting right next to me, I can hand something to her without turning completely around.

Ahhh yes the good ol 4Wheel damn jealous of that! Pricy for sure but worth it. You’re right our payload is about 1300 because we don’t have the extra cab/frame weight (obviously). Good lookin truck and camper either way!

Thanks! Occasionally there are cheap used ones for a good deal, may just have to drive a ways.
