Where is the easiest place to feed wires through the firewall on my Gen III SR+?
I also need a switched power for a relay.

Rather than waiting 3 days and complaining about lack of replies, why not open the hood and have a look at the grommets in the firewall? Bet you will find what you're looking for in 30 seconds flat. And it'll even be in the same exact spot as on just about every other car: driver's side footwell area.

    Try Google too.
How to feed wires through Tacoma firewall.
Driver side under the hood. Follow the already existing look. You will need to poke a hole. Come through just below the dash behind the floor carpet. Closer to fuse box level.

OP, there’s a few options depending on how big a hole you need.

On the passenger side, near where the main harness goes through the firewall, there’s a plug about an inch in diameter. This is where I ran my ham radio coax and power cables through. It was just big enough.

There’s a plug in the same place on the driver side, but it’s obstructed by the brake booster and pedals.

If you need a bigger hole, consider the floor plugs which can be located by looking up at the floor from under the truck. Then pull back the carpet to pull the plug you want to go with as there are a few options. You may have to remove a seat, or you can just pull the door sill and kick panel, pull back the carpet, and you’ll find one there.

I’d advise making a hole in the plug and running your wires through it, to keep the wires from wearing against the sheet metal. Then seal it off with canned gasket material.

I have the offroad version w/the smaller brake booster and went through the plug just below it.

I cut a V in the main wire harness boot underneath the plastic kick plate in the driver foot well to the left of the pedals. Pushed the wire right through.

thanx guys. Exact information I was looking for. I mounted a fuse block to the top of the fuse box and it's time to start running wires. So far I need to power up my Clazzio heated seats, front camera, a ham radio and rewire the crap installation the Snugtop dealer did.

D7639645-671B-4678-86C4-E56F578F7537.jpg I found this thread while trying to find what to remove in order to get access to the grommets on the passenger side. While googling and TW searching I ask my wife for a metal hanger and she says, “we only have modern hangers”. Geez I didn’t know metal hangers were a thing of the past. Go figure.

Zip tie to the rescue! The modern day coat hanger. Zip tie on left, antenna wire in right.
