Correct, if you watch them both TF1 (pan) is steady and TF2 (convertor) jumps all over the place..

Curious ... has anyone ever heard of a cooler for a manual transmission? I know that heat is the downfall for any transmission and while towing always wondered with my manual.

I installed a Hayden 677 in series with the OEM cooler but I still get up to 215-225F post converter temperature on climbs with the 3800 lb load although the pan temp is never much higher than 200F. Should I be paying attention to one temp more than the other?

Could I ask where you purchased the trucool from? I’m having a hell of a time finding a retailer that sells the LPD4590. I went through their list of US distributors, but not much success :angrygirl:

You could pin the transmission thermostat open on your trips with climbs. Takes less than a minute to do.

Yep, I’m not seeing it on eBay or Amazon.
I purchased over 3 years ago from retailer in Lakewood, Washington on eBay.
Looks like the 4711 which requires fittings and is in stock is a bit lower on BTUs.

how did adding the cooler go? I just checked out that 679 on Amazon. I have a lot of weight and I want to add a better cooler. I do have a oem cooler right now. Highest temp I’ve seen is 208. Might be normal since I’ve been reading temps can run high but it would be nice to bring it down 20 degrees or so for fluid longevity.

Looks awesome, was the install hard? Did it come with mounting brackets or did you have to make it custom

you should be monitoring the pan temp. the post converter temp will go really high for short periods but the pan temp is what you should be monitoring.
