Hello, sorry if there is already many posts about custom sub boxes but wasn't sure which one to post in. So I was having a hard time in searching for a custom box for my 3rd gen Tacoma since I got it a few months ago. I didn't like the ones I found on eBay, as I only wanted a box for a single 10" sub. I finally found a website called The Sub Box Shop ( www.thesubboxshop.com ) which makes custom boxes for any gen Tacoma and many other brands of cars as well. They have boxes for the passenger and driver side storage areas. I'm not associated with them, just wanted to share this information because when I was looking up custom sub boxes, they do not show up in a Google search so I had no idea they existed. The box in the picture is the one I ended up getting. I can post pictures of it when I get it installed if anyone is interested.

Their site won’t load for me. I’m looking for a sub box for a 2008 Regular Cab Base Model and they are really hard to come by. Most of them require me to push my seat up which I don’t wanna do.

How much room is behind your seat when it's at the position you want it at, maybe one of the other custom boxes for a different model will fit it. Do you mind posting some pictures of the area?

I saw that site after watching a youtube install subs in his 3rd gen. I was thinking about getting the dual sub box with amp mount. And was going to have 2 jl10tw3-d4’s. The thing is, I have no idea how to install subs and amp. I looked at wiring digrams and have no clue. Not sure what amp to run, locs (looking at the lc7i), wires, tweeters, both front and rear door speakers. Thinking about just buying the sub box and subs and just having a shop or professionals install it, just pay for labor and whatever else that’s needed also sound deadening. I was going to with oem audio plus, but I think I could get a better system instead. I want to keep the stock headunit for it’s steering wheel functions.

That would be your best bet if your not comfortable with wiring. As for the subs, for the box I picked I can fit an Alpine type s 10inch which I think is a far better price to performance ratio. I've seen a video we're they had 2 in a good box causing window flex. And you could get 2 for the price of one JL. I've matched the size to the box and it should fit perfectly, almost like it was made for it. Plus it can rms at 600watts per sub if your looking for the most power you can fit behind the seats. Most shallow mount subs are an average of 300 watts rms.
