Dakar lead pack help.

I tried looking for this in other threads and i couldn't find a solution so maybe you guys can help me out.
My Dakar leaf spring on driver side is rubbing against what i believe is called a bracket and causing a squeaking sound. It is not the overlapping leafs causing the sound trust me i had someone bounce my truck up and down and pinpointed the sound. So how do i move the bracket over or prevent the leaf from rubbing on it? Here are some pics .

 

I had a similar issue with squeaking (this seems like a constant battle with leaf springs, OEM and aftermarket). On my Dakar’s, I undid the bolt connecting across the top, bent the bracket back to where it’s not rubbing, then bolted it back together. Worked just fine.

There is no need for that bracket to be so tall, it’s just cheap manufacturing so they can use the same bracket on lots of different leaf packes. There are a few threads on it, most seem to bend over naturally once they hit the frame a few times. I’d redrill the holes lower, move the bolt down and cut the top off. Either that or ask Dakar for a better fitting / shorter bracket, but the bracket should be riveted to the bottom leaf, so you’d have to grind/drill the rivet out once you separated the leaf pack to do that.

 

Try loosening the nuts on the leaf spring U-bolts and use a hammer to tap the bracket leaf so it pivots a bit and there’s equal clearance on each side of both front and rear brackets. I’ve even used flathead screwdrivers as shims between the brackets and the springs to hold everything until I torqued up the U-bolts.

 

I would just smear grease in it to be honest. Those brackets are designed to keep the leafs from rotating so they will almost always touch at some point.they will always twist back.

 

I doubt that's making the squeeky sound. I had an annoying squeek when I installed my Dakars HD leaf pack. Someone suggested spraying Fluid Film on the leaf pack and that fixed my issue. Every few months I have to spray it again but it's not a big deal and simple solution

Yep, sometimes they move, sometimes they don’t. I’ve used grease too, but it tends to wash away after a while. I’ve also cut up old windshield washer fluid bottles and added strips of the plastic between the leaves (not close to the U-bolts though) and beside the brackets.
I’ll do anything to hunt down and murder an annoying, incessant squeak.....
