More horsepower equals less gas mileage

So far I've been balancing driving procedures with mods and seeing a very minimal effect. The key is to remember, it's a slow-ass truck I just added weight to. Just accelerate as needed. Screw the rest of traffic.

A little something every chance we get.

But, unlike physical impediments to pushing through the air, NOT always, and NOT always as much. It used to be more true when everything was a brick. But you can trick horsepower and torque via engine management, where you cannot change footprint or aero!

You would fit in perfectly having a Prius the slower you drive the better gas mileage and you just piss off everybody behind you

Horsepower is a function of torque, so build up torque and adjust torque to your preferred operating range and tweak to peak horsepower in regards to torque

It's getting to the point where I think I drive it like one of my best loved old bosses (RIP) used to threaten - "When I retire, I'm going to get up early, and drive my model A up and down the hill country road where I live, just to piss people off! Then, go out at 4 PM and do it again!" And he was the NICEST guy you would have ever met!

Can no longer link the lights, it's been too long I suppose. Saved about 30% if I remember correctly.

These are the fog lights I use. I love them, they're very good in inclement weather or low vis.
    https://www.bajadesigns.com/products/squadron-r-sport-pair-driving-combo-amber.asp

Here's the light bar I have
    https://www.bajadesigns.com/products/S8-LED-Light-Bars-Product-Page.asp

It's a 20" combo with clear lens. I paid less than half on fleabay.
    https://www.bajadesigns.com/products/S8-LED-Light-Bars-Product-Page.asp

If you ever decide you want white/amber you can swap out the lenses. They simply so not fog or allow moisture into the lenses. There's a great comparison between them and rigid by a TW member, I'll see if I can find it.

No necessarily. I bumped my Cummins turbo diesel to about 650 hp and when I kept my foot out of it it got great fuel economy. Like 26mpg, not bad for a 3/4 ton 4x4 on 35's.

You know my friend had the same issue with his Cummings except when he would pull stuff he would get better fuel mileage as opposed to just pulling empty cuz he was always pulling the skid loader behind it

More power I made, the more conservative I drove and I never got hurt on mileage. Torque was king, so when I had little 4-bangers I'd do math to determine close to optimum exhaust and intake runner size to pull the pulse tuning in with scavenging and know where to improve using factory electronics and redneck engineering.

LOL! No pistol, but some changes are so "incremental", and some are huge! Double your tire footprint, and you will SEE an immediate change in available performance, and certainly mileage. But, convert from the clutch fan (mechanical engine drag), and you are not likely to SEE any difference - but you will FEEL the engine performing more readily. I am figuring that is the same kind of difference I will find with the K&N Filter change; will not see a MPG difference, but engine will breath easier, and I will FEEL the difference at my foot. Those small changes are perfect for my kind of driving.

Got my early birthday gifts for myself on. Black bowties and Texas edition badges. Removed the old ones. Also removed the Silverado and LT lettering from the tailgate

So you weld aluminum as well?

If you go this far I would consider adding in the skid plate as part of the design, just a thought?

KC lights are sooo overated and overpriced....

Hmm, bet you could hook 2-4 of them as one, cut down the number of relays.

I’ve got 285/75/16’s, get close to 18mpg on every tank

The 1911 is a WWII, Korea, and Viet Nam veteran. It was my grandfather's personal sidearm when he flew F4's in Viet Nam. Apparently it has quite the history. Can confirm, it has a hair trigger and is a tack driver

Thanks for all the info mang! I really like the amber ones. Do you have any pics of how far forward they sit in the housings? Im trying to figure out if those would clear my core support. I think the main issue im running into is that the bumper is for the 12-15 and mine is older so theres a bunch of grille in the way. As it stands i dont think a winch would fit either. This may necessitate a 12-15 swap for my truck at some point
