Northern NY/ Ft Drum area wheeling and B.S. thread

I've only seen one. 2 if you include mine. And auto. Oh and one tundra pro cement.

 

I haven’t seen any cement tacos in the Watertown area

 

Hey guys! So my truck has a brand new Icon Vehicle Dynamics stage 4 suspension kit on the way and can't seem to find a shop that will install it without giving me a ridiculous price. It comes with UCAs, leafs, coilovers, shocks, and shock reservoirs. Anyone know where I could take it? Another caviat, the stock passenger UCA currently on my truck is detaching from the mount so wherever you suggest I'll need to have it towed. Anything helps guys. Located near Onondaga community college.

Send Rafael an email and he should get back to you. He is part of Upstate4x4 and should be able to install your lift or maybe know someone that can. I had him install my front winch bumper on my 2002 Tacoma and he did good work. His shop is located over near Syracuse University so not too far from you. Good luck.

 

Thanks man! It's in great working order aside from the UCA. I drove it across the country so it's been a beast. Just needs some TLC is all. I contacted Rafael and he is going to get back to me on what he can do and/or who he can refer me to. I really appreciate the tip!

 

Not a problem at all, glad I could help you out. I just recently got rid of my rusty 1st gen for a new Tacoma, miss it very much. Are you a student living in the area?

 

wish i had a shop i could give ya a hand. My buddy works at terrys transmissions on taft rd and they do other stuff like this too. they just did a small lift on a tundra the other day. the problem is that it takes a while to swap everything. its not really a hard job. just time consuming.

 

I'm a Tundra owner new to the area and would love to attend any meetups if you wouldn't mind a Tonka attending. I actually joined the forums because I noticed quite a few Tacos on post since I've been here.

Hey got my taco truck street legal! just saying what's up to the fellow New Yorkers out here!

 

I just moved back to the Syracuse area with my 2016 MGM Tacoma and would love to meet some local guys, lend a hand wrenching etc. In California we would do BBQ meet and greets and mod days almost once a month. i'd love to check out some of the locals trucks since i keep getting told mine looks like its a fish out of water here for some reason lol

 

I'm from the Saratoga Springs area and would love to meet up for some camping/wheeling trips anywhere within a 4-5hr radius! I'm a 4Runner guy so hopefully that's acceptable here. The northeast section on the 4Runner forum is a ghost town!!

 

I am from California. This is my first taco, but we love camping in my family.
Definitely be down to take the truck off road where I can get it dirty, drink some beers and fish. When the weather gets better. Meanwhile I’m still wrenching in my garage in the cold and using the 4wheel drive to get to work and back in this awful weather.

 

What made you move from Cali?
Also where in upstate? If you’re close I’d be down to help wrench sometime

 

Work. I landed a gig working in hydrogen infrastructure development, which was the industry I wanted to get into.
my property is in Westerlo NY, about 25 mi south of Albany.
That'd be cool! just finished a small repair in my wife's car today. next up for the truck is replacing both front CV axle shafts. already have the parts. may try to bang one out tomorrow? but otherwise, I might wait until next weekend to do both. got a big 3 car garage.

New here and new-to-me taco. The kia served me well but a jeep cherokee to the drivers door was all it could take. Just wondering if anyone knows any mild trails i could run to break the truck in? In the watertown area would be nice but any information would be awesome!

There is a mudfest event on june 1st in turin. I usually run mini 1 and stock class (mostly fullsize). If u are bored thats a good time. Side by side mud drags, double elimination, classes from mild to wild. Check timberview mudfest on face book
