The 1.05 base tune is fantastic. I’ve run both the performance tune and the base. The base tune responsiveness and pull is quite nice, just doesn’t have the tip-in or gearlock of the performance tune.

I ordered the tune that night and have been one 1.05 base for 2 weeks lol. I have 04b02 so I’m waiting for the release of the performance tune. I’m so swamped with work I don’t have the time to go to the dealer for a TSB, and I honestly don’t see much free time to download techstream at least for another week

It will be worth the wait when you go to 04B04. I ran the freeway today and got 20mpg and felt like I could get way better if there wasn’t so much damn traffic.

I’m so yearning for the wooded trails right now it’s not funny. I understand not having time.

I am not running stock either so I’m impressed with the base tune. Feels very well rounded. It can scoot when you want it to scoot too

    Definitely agree.
Even for a base tune, it drives so much better!

Haven’t been able to tow yet. Likely next weekend when I am able to get out. Very hopeful.

What is the average mpg people are getting on 4.88’s. Better? Worse? Over stock gears

I get about 16.5 with mostly city driving. It goes way down when I go off-road in 4WD.

    What size tires?

And you really like the 4.88’s? No regrets?

I'm on 285/75/17s so basically a 34" tire. I love the 4.88s, and have zero regrets!

That’s awesome, I gotta take a long hard look into this since my 12.2 MPGs are pretty much a joke:rofl:

I'm getting Yukon 4.88s installed soon so I will report back soon.

With 285/75/17 tires, the cpu is currently showing 17/18 mpg with stock gears (mixed city and highway driving).

Any reason NOT to get the REM polishing with the gears?

It’s not really needed so, I guess you can save a few bucks by not doing it.

Nope, it'll save you the break-in time.

I heard you can’t drive over 50 mph or something for the first 500 miles or something? That’s almost impossible with my location

Recommended. It’s all about the heat. New gears generate a lot of heat so you can drive faster as long as you manage the heat. That’s why 2-3 heat cycles are recommended as the gear oil breaks down fast under heat.

If you can’t run the heat cycles. I would def REM them.
