I recently bought a 1995.5z The tires that came on the 14” steels are too hard in compound & too soft in sidewall for me.

As is, I’m breaking away the rear & spinning the tires, even when starting in 2nd.
My other car is a 1990 Miata & I just “handed down” a 2009 xB to my daughter. Both are optimized for mountain road driving & have BF Goodrich Comp 2s.
I was simply assuming getting the same for the truck.

I was told that was a bad idea ... so here I am.

    Intent:
Drive hard, on the street. No off-roading.
Only light hauling- mostly sports equipment for my kids. It came with a fiberglass tonneau, which may limit what I can carry.

This is my first truck, so all my tire knowledge isn’t really transferable here.

What are good tires to look into?

    I’m thinking 16” ...
(Was planning 17, with Comp 2s- but was told thar was idiotic on my truck)
